Ive just been enjoying this
My daily needed some work so instead of putting the money i to the K5 i fixed up my work truck. Put all nee suspension and steering in, buffed the faded paint and detailed it. New brakes, tires, wheels and grille. Also gave it a long needed tune up and fluid overhaul. Coming up on 240k want to keep it going and not have to buy a new vehicle for as long as possible. Sucks because I could have finished the interior on the blazer but this was necessary. My left front caliper pins were busted. This truck had been shaking for a while when coming to stops and I was trying to ignore it lol it became very unsafe. Quarter million miles on all stock components she had hahaha

Couldnt pass these up. Killer deal on marketplace $75 for the escalade 3rd row seats in black leather. Now I can fold the seats down independent and have better hooks for car seat.

Yep, had a buddy build the main hoop and down bars for me before I had a bender. And I added the gussets and finish welded it. Still needs some cross support bars put in but I need to finish the interior so I know where to put them.

Found a deal on a decently clean 88 K5 frame. Thinking of swapping my body onto after building it up with suspension, cross members, boxing it in and stuff. Hmmmmmmm really would be nice to start with a bare frame
Welp I bought it for $300 bucks delivered.
Its coil over and 4 link time. Just need to find a beefy steer axle. Still have yet to find a gm dana 60. Should be a decent project to get done over the next couple winters. Then drop the body onto the completed chassis
Having done the whole Dana 60 coilover thing before, unless you are doing rock crawling or putting tires on bigger than 37s I would keep the lighter front axle and just upgrade it, a Dana 60 is really heavy and handling and performance suffer. If you truly need the brute strength, then go for it, but if you don't, it's not a good upgrade.
