My tailgate window is stuck in the up position. When I push the button I can tell there is a load on it because the ammeter and alternator are showing a load but nothing happens. Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys. I'm in a pickle here with this window. Yesterday I decided I was going to take my headliner out and fix it. Well, I start removing the trim from the front moving to the back and once I got it all removed, I tried to lower the rear window and nothing happened. Now I have to crawl in the back and remove the cover while not trying to destroy my cardboard headliner. The unusual thing is when I push the button, the ammeter draws down. Could the window be stuck and the motor not be able to overcome the problem? I also have to get the spare tire out to get to the screws on the tailgate carpet. What a PITA!!

you will have to pull the inspection cover off,and yes the spare tire sucks being in the way, anyways on mine the drive cable had rusted up inside its plastic sheath, replaced the cable and all is well now

Yes, it's probably just stuck. If the rear key switch works or you can get an assistant, try pushing down on the window by hand while the motor is engaged. This is the easiest and may get it moving. If not, pull the cover, take the cable off the motor and try connecting it to a cordless drill. You can also inspect - there may be a lot of rust in there. Once you figure it out, lube the parts and shoot some white grease down the drive cable before buttoning it all up.
