Was building a K30 truggy. Economy forced a change, turned the page in the project book. Most of the build will end up in the new Suburban.

63s in the rear

The spring hanger was moved about 6" forward. The lower rear rivet hole moved to the front lower rivet hole.

The rear shackle flip installed 2" forward.

Looks cool. Whats the plans for it?

the plan is 60 front with 52s or 56s. 14bff rear with discs and 63s. Fox 2.0 14" travel. Extreme duty diff covers and rear pinion guard. Ballistic dual shear hysteer with hydro assist. Behind the bumper winch mount. Also currently looking for a 203 to build the doubler. Stand alone TBI harness. Plenty of interior mods to please the wife while camping. One of those features is the diesel fired heater so the rig doesn't have to run all night to keep her warm.

Oh yeah, and all the little crap to fix the PO joker crap. (exhaust first)

Upper shock mount and crossmember. Shocks are Fox 2.0 with black ends. 14" of travel

Springs are at full droop. The shocks have about two inches left to allow more droop with tires and actual trail flex.

The frame is off the stand.

It should ride pretty well.

The brakes need plumbed, paint applied, and the diiff cover needs some bolt clearancing.

Drove it tonight! Rides great, but I'm having some brake issues to figure out. I took the load proportional valve out or I didn't use big enough line on the axle. I'm headed out to HMC in the morning so I'll get some decent flex pics if I can get back to the rock course.

1/4 line from master

3/16 line from tee fitting on hose to calipers.

i ditched the factory poportion valve and went adjustable unit . few test drives i got it good. 1ton master and hydroboost also. 60/14 combo.

Didn't make it out to Harrisburg, but here is some poser pics in the driveway. It still has the Skyjacker 6" springs and broken 10bolt. The 56" springs and dana 60 will come in a couple weeks.

The rear springs ride great and flex pretty good. I'll be removing the front springs and axle tomorrow. Starting on the front 56" swap with the 60 going in. Also will be replacing the the front clip with straight one.

I can't wait to see it! Post a lot of pics and and insights as I am gonna be doing my 60 swap soon. I know it's straight forward and should be easy, but just in case.

The biggest thing I can recommend to you is make sure that you have the 60 spring plates already with u-bolts. It'll piss you off when you go to install the 60 and find out the bolt holes are offset. When I did the K-30, mine got thrown in a scrap load on accident.

Ten bolt and 6" skyjacker springs

No more. Since I sold the springs and axle to the same guy. It came out easy.

Before I removed the rivots I welded the body mount in place. I like to weld them in since the rivots can get sloppy over time and I don't plan on moving the mount.

Once the rivots are removed and the body mount welded. Cut the frame back to the mount. Also cut the bottom of the mount out.

Tack the hanger to the front of the frame rail and the rear of the body mount. I used c-clamps to bring the front of the hanger up to get the degree to match the frame.

I realized while uploading to Photobucket that I didn't get a good picture of what the frame looks like after install.

It sits pretty level. They are the 56" springs from the rear and have 2 add extra leaves I believe. The axle moved forward about 3" and should clear the firewall at full stuff.

I'm working on moving the steering box and mounting the winch. My plan is to have the winch mounted behind the spring hanger.
101_0111.jpg

This can be pretty difficult if you only have a torch or grinder. If you can, get an air hammer and some good bits. The rivots that are on top of the frame are tricky to get to.

Once the steering box is unbolted and the crossmember is removed. The frame can be inspected very close for cracks(can be done prior also). This one isn't cracked. The steering box has to be moved forward since I'm running Hysteer crossover. The next pictures show the start of the frame plate for relocation. I ran out of time to clean it up so these are just some teaser pics.
