Decided to throw some scrap together and see what developed.

I also decided to put the suburban up for sale. Gonna focus on the heavy equipment side of my career. Need to eliminate some distractions. Figured I would let the CK5 crowd know first before I put in on craigslist. Not sure what to ask for it though.:dunno: I'll keep working on it while I try to sale it though.

Had some old steel wheels given to me for rollers. I'm probably gonna put beadlocks on them and use the aluminums for rollers.

Yeah, its how life goes. Choices we all how to make some times. I'll keep building as long as I own it. If I get what I want out of it, I'll turn the wife's Yukon into a mild adventure rig. Key word being mild.

Been pretty busy at work the last few months. The sub has been driven back and forth to the shop a few times when the KW was broke down. I have aquired an idling issue. I'll need to reseal the TBI and put new injectors in it soon. I cut some wiring out of it the other day. Tried to plug in the scanner and found that the trailer brake controller was mounted in the way. Why don't people think of these things when they mount stuff? :doah:When I went to remove it, I found the power cord for an old CB stuffed into the fuse box with the ECM fuse!:doah: Than since it was too long, instead of cutting it off, they wrapped the excess around the hood cable till it was the right length.:haha: I would also like to meet the inventor of the scotchlok wiring connectors. I would ask him if the original package said, "for emergency/temporary repair only!" If he says no with a straight face, I'm gonna kick him in the balls so hard that his gene pool dries up!

Thads funny. Its funny you posted today. I tried to PM you and I got a message saying your box was full.

Anyways, I was trying to convince myself I need that burban.......if only you were closer

My account was overdue. My PM account was in overdraft. :haha::rolleyes: Had to upgrade for the year again.

Shoot me a PM if you want to know about it.

So I'll get around to more posting. Right now it won't start after doing some troubleshooting. Looks like I made it worse. Cutting all of the extra wiring out and just widdling away at the normal hack stuff of the PO.

Oh, and it isn't for sale anymore.:woot:

That's great that you get to keep it!! Now you just have to keep your patience with the hack stuff as you remove it.

thanks guys. i like it, sometimes. lol  if work keeps going the way it is i might get something accomplished on it. like my H1 wheels.:woot:

the more i look at the bumper center, the more i think i am gonna change it. i think no bends will look better than the bends. even if i got around to grinding it smooth. it was just a midnight creation anyways. we'll see what i decide. thats low on the list of things though.

So my 8hr days are gone and I'm back to beating the brush hard again. No time to work on the burb since I changed the oil pressure sensors in June. The engine won't start now and I have no clue why the check engine light is on. My buddy came back from basic a couple weeks ago and he has sparked a fire for me to do something with it. Even if I only get a couple hours a week at it, better than sitting along the fence in the back yard.

It will always be one of those rigs that is for sale. I can build another one when I have time again. I would probably entertain a partial trade for another standard cab long bed 3/4 ton also. Most of my time off from work is spent with my wife and son instead of wrenching alone in the shop. I do enough of that in brush monday through saturday!

But to answer the question in a more confusing way. I am currently not advertising it for sale!

Man, I'd trade ya for my 3/4 ton! Your rig is way nicer tho...

It might look nicer in the photos but it still has its issues. Come on down and hang out in the shop for a day. It might be the only way I will spend time out there!

I'd love to do that. :thumb:

And what truck doesn't have issues. My rig pulls work duty every day. I miss having a burb tho

I got a little more than 5 minutes to look at it tonight. Aired up the flat tire. Dug the stand alone harness and the spare ecm out. Tested for voltage at the fuel relay. Put the spare ecm in the rig and tried to install the harness. Turns out the 87 tbi has a different plug than the 88. Took the harness back out and reconnected all of the stock connectors but used the other ecm. Cranked on it and got the same result as when using the priming wire so now I have fuel to the TBI. Sweet! And on my shop floor under the exhaust. Damn! Inspected the TBI & found a bad gasket. The gasket between the TBI & manifold sucked in. Pulled the TBI off. Taking it into work tomorrow. Maybe I won't have a field call &I can reseal the whole TBI.
