Yeah, ATS turbo'd diesel conservatively putting down over 450 lbs of torque to the ground...will run at absolutely any angle...and will pull down double the fuel mileage of a small block. I can see why you'd want to skip all that.
For crawling it's a damn hard combo to beat. There isn't a gas engine out there that will equal the torque at idle. With the ATS turbo there are very few small blocks putting down it's peak numbers either...Add the doubler and 5.13's and that rig would be a wet dream to crawl with.
Dave, apparently to correctly time a diesel you need some fancy timing probe. I've never seen it done, but do know that tool is spendy...it can be pretty closely ballparked, and if it smokes a llittle it prolly just needs the timing bumped up a hair.
Very nice rig, gives me ideas. It also probably smokes alittle from the new heads not have even wear with the rest of the motor. Unless diesels are different in that matter then gas engines.
Yea that,s my K5 on ebay.I really hate to sell it but I am getting a divorce and need to give some cash to the wife. It's kind of funny my wife says the truck is one of the reasons were getting divorce and now I'm selling it... LOL.. .Plus there is no good place in Florida to ride anymore and I just got a Raptor 660 quad that I ride on weekends at a ATV park 5 minutes from my house.Who ever gets it is getting a good deal.Almost every nut and bolt in new on it.I built it with the advice and knowledge from this great site.I would love if someone from this site would buy it.......so people start bidding......
I wish you had waited to sell it about 10 years, when I will have a real job. I'm still in college right now.. If I had the money, would so be heading south right now
