Hey yall i got a 78k5 and just got done with a 52" spring swap up front and 63s in the rear.it has a d60 up front 14bff in the rear 5.13s .and crossover steering.after the spring swap while driving down the road i got some pretty bad bump steer.always had some but not as much as now .it wont be drivin on the street fof long but will be for a couple months until i get a trailer for it (ppl in CA want an arm and a leg for a trailer) but the question is what should i be looking for to help correct this? I know hydro assist would help a bit but cost too much $ right now ..any suggestions are appreciated!

Getting the drag link as close to horizontal at ride height is about it to make it better.

Leaf springs and cross over will cause bump steer, it just happens.... Its because of the way the springs and steering geometry work against each other.

Please post some pictures so we can see the pitman arm, draglink angle, steering arms, etc.

Have you double-checked all joints after the swap? How did you align it? Any idea what the caster angle is?

Yah pics would be great. There are tons of guys with the exact setup you have that work really well

Its posted in the newbie section of pirate with pictures .i cannot figure out why my picturees dont show up on here.i think what reallu helped it was adjusting the preload on the kp.
