bad luck with headers....

im gonna try the manifold gaskets next. do they have to be OEM gaskets? or will good napa ones be ok? shiny side goes towards manifold/header right?

manifolds gaskets yes, definitely will solve problem

cheap autozone ones work fine even

it doesnt matter what store you go to,. i think they are all metal fel pro ones everywhere, AFAIK, but i know auto zone fvor sure has them, they are about 8 bucks pair

sound slike youve not bought much chevy gaskets before ? never bought manifold ones?

lol..

good luck

Copper gaskets all the way. Mine had a set on when the PO grenaded the engine. I reused the gaskets when we put another engine in, never retorqued them and they still don't leak. That was over a year and a half ago. Don't get me wrong, my headers leak, but they leak from pinholes in the welds at the collector not the gaskets.

Never heard of the manifold gasket trick, but sounds like a good one too. I know the copper gaskets work wonders though.

not sure what you mean by this. i've bought manifold gaskets before. i asked if they had to be oem causs a few people said to go with "oem" manifold gaskets.

i always figured the shiny side goes towards the manifold header, and anyone i've asked say, "ya i think thats right". just want to be 100% sure so they dont fail causs they're in wrong.
