i wanted a regular lift kit but i got to lookin and was wonderin what would it take to make my blazer have the supsension to skip across the desert like the trucks in the 1000 does any one know of companies that specialize in this?

Couple things. Check out the PRE RUNNER section on here.

Secondly, how deep is your wallet. The cheapest so far Ive found is to get Deaver Springs and some good shocks. And this will be coming in under 2k or there abouts.

3rdly, the best way would be to 4 link the back. If your a fabricator than youll be good to go. But if you farm it out, itll get expensive quickly. I did see a company that did some crazy 4 link deal while still using leafs. didnt make much sense, but whatever, it was like 3500bux too.

Ive been researching this as well.

4 or 5k is the tops but the problem is its not a prerunner its an 4x4 do you think i could do some mods to the front and make it work???

Yeah, there is a 4x4 Prerunner K5 in the Prerunner section. So, check it out and youll see.

Ill probably go with Deavers myself. But for 4K you could 4 link it, which would be much better than leafs. May have to get creative with the shock towers though. depends on how much travel you want.

Look through the pictures in my photo bucket of the build.

The shocks will set you back $12,000 retail to do this. Can be done less expensive but does not work as well. The key is in the shocks. You could probably make leafs work with a good set of triple by-pass shocks.

Send the truck and a blank check and I can build it for you. :haha:
Here are pictures in action.

I know you're not set up for this but how well can you crawl or trail drive??? is there much articulation in your set up???

I took it to Moab in 07 for the first time. Was asked if I could make it stiffer.
Took home the Jason Payne award for most innovative vehicle at the BBQ. I had a blast. I did Hell's Revenge in 2wd. Just went a little faster.

So in 08 I tried harder stuff. It works well. As for articulation, I don't have any pictures with a wheel off of the ground, because they seem to stay planted. It has 18" of travel at each corner. I do the runs with 36 psi in the tires. There are some threads on here with info and videos, but I do not keep track of where.

Do you have any pics of the interior as it looks now? all views? Obviously there is alot of interests in your rig. :D

That is what Im trying to build, but a lil cheaper (deaver springs more than likely).

I can get some. I am laid up with a recently replaced hip. I am going to try to get out into the shop tomorrow. I will see what I can do.

see that, in my opinion, is a useful set up. You can trail it, crawl a bit, or kill yourself blastin through the desert. Build mine please :wink1:

Tires look like BFG Projects. I hadn't seen anybody wheeling on those, and I was wondering how they would do on trails and rocks, since they're cheap to get from racers with a little use on them.
Very cool K5 to be so capable at so many types of wheeling.:waytogo:
