Ball Joint Removal?? Success with re-assembled photos now!

Ok- I’m all done. It’s ready for chassis saver paint. Only issue I discovered was a cracked plate inside the hub. What part or part number is this one?

Idk why it says conversion but that's the same as what you have now.
You sure you want to keep those auto locking hubs. They aren't the most dependable. Course maybe after fresh cleaning and good grease will work better

Yeah they were actually working before believe it or not. I like the factory “4x4” center caps etc

Thanks!!! I want to stick to the factory vacuum lockers
80's auto locking hubs have nothing to do with vacuum (thank goodness). The best thing to do is sell them while they work and before you get noisy stuck hubs. It's really not much work to turn the dials and with a good front driveshaft you can shift the T-case in and out at will for mixed surfaces (keeping hubs locked).

When the auto hubs start to stick, other drivers have no comprehension of your need to back up, possibly multiple times to disengage. The problem is that only one sticks and you spin the spider gears for countless miles.

Getting out to lock/unlock manual hubs just proves that you have a real 4x4 and not a mall crawler.
