Anyone else order parts from ballistic fabrication and just get the run around as to why their parts are on hold for several weeks?
I would have canceled my order but i've read on pirate it takes 2 months to get a refund from them as well.

Is 2 MONTHS a reasonable shipping time frame to wait after you place an order and your credit card is charged?

Summary: Ordered $320 worth of parts on April 5th, trying to have my truck ready for a trip leaving May 25th. Sound reasonable?
I get the run around week after week, and when a box shows up on 5/24- it isn't even complete with the things i need to start fabricating.
I thought 2 months was plenty of time, but appearantly not. Now i still don't have my parts and my truck isn't ready for my memorial day weekend trip.

:sign9:
Heres the emails i got:
4/5-Order placed, Credit card charged.
4/6- "waiting on backordered parts. I am hoping less than three weeks."
4/14- "waiting on my shipment of Rod ends to come it, They SHOULD be here the beginning of the week and then I can sort through them and start shipping them"
4/25-"I should get my Rod ends in today towards the end of the day. Then we Half to get them put on the shelves. The order should ship tomorrow or Wednesday."
5/2-"I got my rod end order in on Friday Finally, My Housings for the ballistic bushings should be here today and Then I can box all this up. Sorry for the delays."
5/5- "I have everything here but the Housings for the Ballistic Bushings. I was expecting some back from the Plating company Last week but they have not come in yet. We are Expecting them to come in on Tuesday and I can ship all this out. Thanks for your patience"
5/11-"Just got my housing back from the Plater. Still waiting on the Bushings (we ran out early last week) Should have them by the end of this week. Thanks"
5/17- "Good news is. WE HAVE ALL THE PARTS!!!! I'm gonna work on getting this out for you today..."
5/18-"Still working on it for you in my free time. I have not forgot about you. I anticipate being able to ship them tomorrow morning"
5/24- Box shows up, Missing 5 Items- Jam nuts and Threaded DOM tube adapters.
I can't even start fabricating without the threaded tube adapters.

Been waiting 7 weeks for these parts and now were waiting on DOM threaded inserts and Jam Nuts? Really. ?

My advise: Don't order from Ballistic Fabrication unless you have 2 months of nothing to do but wait for the parts.
If you are trying to get your truck built with a time limit, Forget about it.
Yes their bushing rod ends are nice, but I likely won't be ordering anything from Ballistic Fab again. What a joke.

:flipoff5:

/end_rant.

Ryan, didn't you see the couple posts just within the last 2 weeks about Ballistic Fab? I believe Wes was one of them and people are complaining about LONG wait times and bad customer service.

Than go order your non existent rod ends some where else. Look around and see where you can get them. Most of the stuff you had on backorder are on backorder everywhere else also. Those are high demand parts now that people are making money again. The manufacturers can't find employees that want to work to build those products. I bet if you were polite on the phone and asked how many Ballistic is waiting for. The number would be astounishing. It also sounds like the parts you needed should have been on your shelf as spares anyways.

I order from them first if possible. Their quality so far is top notch. They are very reasonably priced and only charge me shipping for one box when a backorder costs them two or three boxes. Ballistic Fabrication is a big name in the offroad community and a rant like yours online is just more ammo against the rest of us.
If the product you ordered is manufactured outsourced than the production delay is not Ballistics fault!

wow, what'd ya get a free sticker from them or something?

there's soooo much wrong with your post, it's comical.... manufactured outsourced parts not Ballistics fault? yeah, ok pal... list em on the website as out of stock then like EVERY other reputable vendor out there... not suck up the payment, and, "oh, you get em when I get em".....

should have had as spares? you must be freakin kidding.... polite? it's a freakin business transaction... DO THE JOB PROFESSIONALLY AND YOU WONT HAVE RUDE CUSTOMERS ON THE PHONE!

it's the same bs NWF was pulling... UNACCEPTABLE! your post just exemplified the "we're doing you a favor" approach that Ballistic and others have.. good riddance...

ya don't hear anyone complain about DIY4X, Ruffstuff, ORD, etc, plenty of companies that know the importance of how to treat a customer...

Thanks for the info. I had the same problem with Black Widow Performance. Remember those guys? The parts do work and work well,it just took 2 months to get them, with little to no comunication.
Yea, I think they went belly up,what a shock:whistle:

you're waiting months for a refund, because they have spent your money and need someone else to order a part they can't deliver in order to give you your money back.

Like nate said, order it somewhere else, somewhere reputable.

Ballistic needs to run their business like they know what the heck they're doing, and they also need not list parts they can't get from some other manufacturer, if they don't stock them. Stock the parts, don't take orders, then order from a supplier and deliver.

Nope. Didn't get nothing for free, just tired of hearing people rant about things today. Thought I would through a positive note in somewhere. I agree with the don't charge till your able to fill the order and list as backordered/out of stock.
I'm just saying that if people would look at what didn't ship and why. The way larger parts manufacturers work now days is build to order. I deal with it in my daily job also. If you've ever had anything machined, plated, than assembled. It never goes as scheduled. Try getting a tool tilt cylinder for a tree feller buncher the day after an operator drops the top of a tree acrossed it. LOL
And as far as the spare parts comment. I will apoligize for that as it is only from experience that heim joints are hard to get a hold of. And since I'm wanting to put a positive note in this thread. Use summit machine for your joints. They build a similiar if not THE ballistic joint.

Most of the stuff you had on backorder are on backorder everywhere else also.
Oh yeah, 1.25 DOM threaded adapters and 1.25 jam nuts are on backorder everywhere else?
Seems like those should be the easiest thing to get/make within 7 weeks while waiting for everything else on backorder?

It also sounds like the parts you needed should have been on your shelf as spares anyways.
Maybe if i had a linked suspension.
That makes a lot of sense. I should have the parts on my shelf already, not the manufacturer.
You're right.

Ballistic Fabrication is a big name in the offroad community and a rant like yours online is just more ammo against the rest of us.
Hey, i'm just posting my dealings with them. I'm letting their actions speak for themselves.
All I'm saying is it would be nice to tell me what was out of stock, and be realistic. Not tell me it should ship out tomorrow- when really i'll still be waiting for parts in a month from now.
Yah i shouldn't have warned anyone or post any feedback about customer service or shipping time unless its positive, eh.

If the product you ordered is manufactured outsourced than the production delay is not Ballistics fault!
The thing thats funny there is the backordered product i ordered IS Ballistic Fab's part. If they are such a big name in the offroad community, and the way they charge a credit card but dont ship anything for 2 months- seems like they could afford to make an investment in trying to have some surplus inventory on the shelves, anticipating orders to try and be ahead of the game.
I guess you're right on the whole Ballistic Fab/Burger King approach. They shouldn't make it till you order it.

:tongue1:

You're right, you should have known 2 years ago that you wanted to go link, and ordered stuff then, just in case it was going to take a huge name in the offroad business 3 months to get your stuff to ya! :thumb:

Seems like the only way Ballistic will make orders fast, quick and correct is if you're name is Ian and you run an off road how-to tv show.

Lately I think Ballistic has gotten a swelled head. You and I are nothing to them unless you have a well known name or connection to somebody important. They want all the free press and advertising on the tv shows, etc. so they'll get more "business" from pions like us.

If anything is to be learned here, don't order from them. Go to a reputable business and spread the word about the good dealings with the biz.

Ballistic did rip off their design from Evolution Machine & Fabrication. Just sayin.

Evolution Machine is :thumb:

I'm just a nobody, but they treated me like a was important. They talked me through the order, kept me informed of the delays and ship estimates.... Then charged my card on the day things shipped out.

Plus, it's fun speaking with Canadians... And I'm sure they like speaking with a guy from New England who thinks their parts are "wicked" nice.
:D

:usaflag:

Ballistic Fab

I ordered some parts from those guys last year, took 3 months to get them, I thought that it might have been a fluke so gave them another shot and got the same result. They charge the CC right away and quoted a 2 month turn time so I cancelled the order.

I will not be using those guys again.

Clicky

I will not ever shop with Ballistic fab again. I was lied to, got the run around, and then talked down to. then when I finally got my order it was the wrong part, it will function but, it's not what I ordered. and I'm not dealing with them anymore to try and get the correct part.
Ballistic Dave :flipoff1: I'm the customer...I focking decide!
They may have great parts but, if you can't actually get them in your hands it is absolutely pointless.

Like I said in my build thread

"Oh and Ballistic fab...**** you very much!:angry1:
BF parts = :pimp:
BF customer service = :poo:"
