I thought about that laying in bed last night. It could be that. I know on my 79 it will allow it go up but not down so kind of the opposite problem. I may try to jumper that just to see if thats the issue. Regardless, window will have to be disconnected and out while the regulator gets moved down so I can access the key part. I think the contacts are burned out or something. I know the plug to the motor looked like it got too hot at one point and I put a new plug on thinking that was it but didn't help. Could be both switches are defective.I found out the other day with an '88 Blazer that the safety switch in the back is only used for rolling the window up. So my guess is that is your problem. I chased SO many wires, assuming that the safety switch was good, because it would roll down from inside.
