what a full banks kit worth? I really don't know. I might be able to get a whole kit (on a 6.2 that smokes pretty bad) all together for around $500 cad. is that fair price?

Not a bad price. Seen just the kits run $800 to $1000 on ebay. Only thing, whats the turbo like. Seals, bearing, ect. If it's the whole nine (Turbo, intake, manitold, guages, and exhaust) i'd say go for it.

That is a good price for CAD.
I know they run $600 to $1000 USD here, but have yet to see any including the exhaust, but the higher priced ones do include evrything else.
They ran about $2k complete when new so it's a good deal if you get a good turbo that doesn't need work, or at your price even if it needs rebuilt, if it includes all the accessories and guages then it's worth it.

I am selling mine for $700 USD

that includes a complete 6.2 engine too......so it sounds worth while then.

And you are still here asking?
It's not a good deal just pass on it and then tell me where it is so I can teach them some maners. :D

I'd go and get that engine if I wasn't so far away / so poor cause of school. Its a friggin' good deal for sure, despite the engine having issues.

WOOT WOOT.............I can't believe I just said woot :D But I'm that stoked.

the rig is 1991 3+3 with a 4L80 behind it. Just got off the phone with the good man. I get the engine, entire banks kit and 4l80 for a drum of Caterpillar engine oil I got for free + $250CAD cash. said the engine has less than 100,000kms on it but smoked. who cares I'm taking it. and i'll find a nice Blazer from AZ to put it in.

Nice buy man. If you weren't a quarter the world away i Have a C code intake and a set of oversided pistons from a gm crate 6.2 with less than a thousand miles on them. Just be carefull with your boost pressure. (the whole reason i have the pistons and intake) Friend of mine tried to push 20 lbs of boost. Crank didn't take it for long. Bout 1000 miles. 21.5:1 compression + 20 LBS Boost = Snappy

Thanks, NO no this will be a bone stock engine + turbo driver rig. I have B series Cummins for horsepower play.

a nice late model blazer with diesel is what I'm wanting now. and for the song and dance I can get this combo for I can't say no.

thanks rene it took me a couple days to decide i wanted to get it after I saw it but it'll be fun.........its just the next project i guess :D

Say now is there anything specific to the '91 year thats good info to know. the tranny, is it a 4l80 or 4L80E. what was the last year for the 6.2?

I feel like a newbie :doah:

:D 70psi @ 17:1CR my 24v spit out the head gasket :D and I drove it home. :doah:

91 was the hen's tooth year. It was the only year any square body got a 4L80E, and with the diesel it got a stand alone controller, the engine itself was of course still purely mechanical. I want to say '92 was the last year for the 6.2.

Well worth keeping that combo together for the K5 you have in mind IMO.

Most other differences amount to minor cosmetic's. Prolly has serp belt, could possibly have rear ABS.

The smoke could even just be injectors and IP needing rebuilding...this new fuel is hard on parts.

91 also has the thick block that has enough material to be bored out to a 6.5L safely. See if you can't get that 205 off him too ;)

I thought 93 was the year for the 599 blocks which can be bored to 6.5?

Yeah but stock 6.2 Compression is around 300 psi. if i'm not mistaken and they run all day long too. Had an 84 with 255,000 miles before the starting fluid did it in. Must be better than a SCUMMINS.

all diesels have to reach around that in order to get cylinder temp high enough to ignite diesel. thats the basis of compression ignition.
