Hello everyone
I picked up a 1978 Chevy stepside with a snow plow to clean my drive with. I knew when I picked it up that it would need some things sorted out on it.

Since all of the underhood tags are missing does anyone have a vacuum line diagram for it and what should the base timing be set at and at what rpm?

The truck has a 350 with a Rochester 4 barrel, np203, turbo 350 trans. All of the bits to the carb look to be there.
Thanks for anyhelp

You will want to get a hold of sweetk30 for this. Maybe send him a pm. Or, edit the title to say snowplow questions. Good luck.

already seen this. and his question is not plow related. its basic motor info. :D

but if you got plow question just ask.

and if i recall its 4-6 degress before tdc and man vac to dist vac advance is all thats basicly needed. then 1 line at back of carb to brake booster . also 1 line port back of intake behind carb to vac mod on tranny.

I guess I should post a picture. Everyone likes pictures right?

So for $800 I drove this home and the 4x4 and plow works. It'll take some elbow grease to bring it back but the foundation is there

Plows? On the front of trucks? Seems like it would make it hard to stay in the next furrow.

And what is this "snow" of which you speak????

Since December 1st it was as if mother nature turned on the snow machine.

on the first I got 12" on the 3rd another 13" and on the 5th 8 more.
Here is my commuter on the first after I checked the mail

So far this season My area has gotten 63" of new snow. We average a little over 150" a year. This is my first winter with a plow I always used a snow blower. I broke the case on the auger gear box and instead of buying a new on I bought a truck with a plow I must admit 20 minutes in heated cab hands down beats 2 hours walking a around in the cold with a snow blower. I should have had one years ago.
