battery and Alternator(K5 6.2 Diesel)

I've been looking into 80s K5 6.2 diesel and i've noticed they have two batteries. I was just wondering why. Also does anyone have a suggestion on good batteries and alternator brands for these blazers.
Also what is the difference between V10 and K5 blazers?

The two batteries is because diesels are harder to start than gas engines.

Short answer: Nothing.

Long answer: Model years.

has the scoop; basically, "K5" is the badge on the side; K trucks are 4WD 73-87 and V trucks are 4WD 88-91... 10 are half-ton, or 1500, so your truck could be any of a K10, V10, V1500... all the same thing. Depends on year and whether it has a badge on the side of it
