Battery relocation question

switch to a distribution block

maybe it's just my web browser, but that switch says it's rated for 20 amps. The "super duty" is rated for 300A but even that's not big enough for a winch pulling 400A.

If you are concerned about potential short circuits, you should protect the cable with a circuit breaker/fuse. A switch will only protect the circuit when it's off. ;)

I just grabbed the first one that popped up to use as a picture.

Buy good point. I know someone earlier said to look Into the circuit breaker type as well.
