maybe it's just my web browser, but that switch says it's rated for 20 amps. The "super duty" is rated for 300A but even that's not big enough for a winch pulling 400A.

If you are concerned about potential short circuits, you should protect the cable with a circuit breaker/fuse. A switch will only protect the circuit when it's off.

Buy good point. I know someone earlier said to look Into the circuit breaker type as well.
