First time BB'ers. Just reserved site F and stoked to get out. Just bought a 74 that needs reassembled. Thrash is on.

So I'm really rackin the ol brain tryna get the logistics to work this season. There's a lot of variables that need to fall into place for this to become our reality. By the end of July I'll know if it's even possible. If so it's still gonna be tight and I doubt I'll afford to actually drive the trucks out so I'll likely be a "shoebie" ie: a jersey term for out of state beach tourists to the beaches with their lunches in shoe boxes.

Just wrapped up Hot Rod Power Tour. Trying to recover from that and start putting this rig back together. Just drove these two almost 5k in two weeks.

Never thought it would come to this, but....................................It looks like I will not be coming to BB19. I was never denied the time off but they never officially approved it and it looks like it is not going to happen. There have been layoffs all over the states, including Kansas, and they are cutting back on how many employees can have off.
I have a reservation at Moab Rim RV campark for 4 nights. Wednesday-Saturday. Park Model Cottage #2. It will be canceled soon.
The only way I will be able to make it is if the company offers me a buyout. I've filled out the forms and still waiting for an answer. Sad thing is, it could take until September to hear whether or not a buyout will be offered and for how much. If I get the offer then great, I'm retired. But until then..............

Chris, glad you could take care of this. And on a side note: There is a good possibility that I will be retired by BB19. If so, we will be there but without the K5. We will stay in a hotel and enjoy the scenery. Maybe go rafting. I'll keep this thread posted on what happens. Hope to be there. If not, there is always BB20.
Also, @rdn2blazer, if I'm retired at this time we are going to make this a long vacation so we will be heading your way right after BB19.

If you get there, you really should consider riding with someone for even just one trail. I have ridden on a couple of trails on different years. While it takes a minute to adjust to being a passenger, I definitely can be a great experience watching, spotting and being out of the truck talking to others. And riding with someone else can offer the experience of a completely different truck than your own as far as how they built it.
I have no problem riding with someone. But the Mrs. would rather go shopping or souvenir hunting instead of riding with someone else besides me. She has a hard enough time white knuckling the grab bars when I'm driving. But it can be done. We'll see if and when I get a buyout to retire. Not sure on the timing until I get a notice. Then it's when will the "Off the Payroll" date be? I'll use 3 weeks vacation for the end so it could be end of August when I'm released. Only time will tell.
If I can convince her to ride with someone, she'll gladly get out at the "Oh Sh!t" spots, to take some awesome pictures.

You or she can ride with me. I have yet to kill someone to death in the Jimmy. But I have never come across a bus full of nuns in a crosswalk.
