BB12 tech inspection help

Wifey's comment was maybe we should re-consider having a tow rig and trailer sometime soon.

Yeah Baby!!:woot:

Be Very careful you are standing at the top of a really slippery slope here.

My advice, quit while your ahead with the blazer. Don't buy a tow rig and start looking at used buggies, then get the tow rig and trailer. :thumb:

Your blazer is too nice to become a trailer queen. Once it starts riding on a trailer you will be doing harder trails and then a few larger dents and then a few harder trails and then it's a truggy and then you want a buggy.

Cut to the end while your ahead.

1350 Ujoints all the way through. should do you fine. That includes the the CV's

We were talking about that this morning, whether to keep modifying the jimmy, when I know I want to end up with a buggy.

Took me a couple times reading this to get it. I agree find a buggy then get a tow rig and trailer!!

Hmm may have to call a friend and see if he still has his rock buggy for sale.

Thanks, Decisions, decisions. and money, where is all the money???

From my standpoint right now I want two wheeling rigs.

Something like your blazer maybe with windows, doors AC etc for the wife and kids comfort on scenic rides, and a four seat buggy with fun parts for my enjoyment doing hard stuff.

Honestly I have thought about finding someones 4 door JK project that already has the lift and "work done" to have for a family wheeling camping rig. I am also working out the mental plans for a 4 seat buggy.

I'm not trying to push you one way or the other but my advice would be to think about this one for a while and try to figure out what you want out of this hobby.

I'm stuck in this vortex too. I can't just hit the highway with my truck and go camping, and it's a far cry from a buggy too. Are you thinking about building your own chassis or buying a basic chassis from someone? I like the Ibex ones, really like the trentfab ones.

exploring all options right now, still early in planning stages, and who knows I may just go with a tow rig and trailer and keep jacking with what I have.

I am as sure in my decisions as Brett Favre.

I have even thought about just adding to my cage or swapping it to another rig and starting from there. Only time and $$$$ will tell.

Either way I think a tow rig of some type and a trailer will be needed.

Can't resist...

As some of you may know, this one's made it across Golden Spike several times unassisted (although only during daylight...), and twice thru Pritchett with cable/strap help...

... aaand there's Plan B; air lockers f/r, and 33s, for now:

Check out the '80 series Cruisers - if you find a factory-locked one, you won't need much more than a little lift and tires...

I am thinking building the chassis, mainly because there isn't a four seater out there that I really like. Also I actually don't have the cash to buy one.

I think the Ibex chassis is about the homeliest looking thing ever. I understand the point of it and it probably will look good with Jeep skins but I won't put jeep skin on a buggy. Also there a pretty tall chassis. I'm wanting to build something along the lines of a trent fab top shelf with 4 seats. Maybe just a bit more belly pan height and I think it would be a lot of fun.

All of my dreaming plans are really just that for right now, work isn't picking up real well up here and I have the second kid arriving in a month now so all I can do is finish working on my house projects and dream. Maybe after KOH this year I can start making something happen?

Your adventures make me think. I'm not just a buggy dork:thumb:

exploring all options right now...

Here's my unsolicited $0.02:

1. Your truck is too nice to turn it into a rock buggy. I'd think it would be too bad if it were cut up/smashed up...
2. Your truck is too heavy anyways for an efficient rock buggy. If I were to get a buggy (but I won't...), I'd start with as little weight as possible.

As someone that was in your position and is now "near buggy". Don't do it.

If you like your blazer, leave it as is and buy someones abandoned buggy project to finish.

I too want 2 different rigs and will probably end up with a buggy and a rig with A/C, heat etc.

It's like there's an echo in here:haha:

Honestly I wouldn't have listened to current me 6 years ago though either. Hardcore buggy wheeling was the best ever and I hate sheet metal.

I still hate sheet metal but like AC and windows which sort of requires sheet metal. :doah: Hence the Jeep JK, toyota 80 series, nice blazer idea and a new family size buggy.
