Keeping in mind I'm in construction, specifically high end stuff in and around Aspen.
We are building a restroom for the City of Aspen in one of the local parks. This park kind of exists where it is because it was the roundhouse and train yard for the Rio Grande railroad back in the mining days. It was well know that the park was a massive fill project at some point in time so we expect to find weird soil conditions and random wood beams and trash from time to time. I guess someone decided to dispose of their car during the fill operation? Excavator dug into a retaining wall structure then into an old car. You can't have the waterline running through the middle of a car obviously so I was on site making sure the car was fully removed from the waterline cut and there wasn't anymore foreign material in the ground.
One of those things that sounds way neater than it really is.

For the newbies out there, just go and enjoy the event your first time. There is plenty to do. Not that you can't help, it's just such a cool event that the first one should be stress free and laid back.
The biggest thing we need help with is leading trails which requires some experience. If there's a tail you feel comfortable leading a group on let me know.

where are you staying?
making arraingments to go to bb13, i know that there is not an official campground or hotel for this but is there any particular campground or hotel most bb13 participants will be coming to?

I plan to stay at the slickrock camp ground. Lots of folks stay there every year. That said, Moab is so small that it really isn't any effort at all to go campground hopping if you are staying in a hotel or renting a house etc.
