So what are you selling these pieces for? It's not for me, but obviously the demand is there.

This one took 4.5 hours. Add material, electricty for sandblasting, finishing materials etc, and I think $125 for this one is fair. For the other ones that are more simple and a little smaller I have been doing $50-$75.

nice.. how are you burnishing those?

I sandblasted the whole panel, and then went over it with scotch brite pads. If you try and keep on the rolled up surfaces it shines them up more than the lower surfaces and really makes the rolls pop. I hit the center circle with some cheesy buffing wheel from HF on a die grinder that worked half assed ok.... I need some real polishing tools.

Need to sell more things so I can buy more tools. That is the soul purpose of this thing, to make money for more tooling.

Wait...the purpose of this tool is to generate funding for more tooling that it will consume? This sounds like a terrible and self-referential cycle. When do the funds start funneling back into the K5 project? :dunno:

I have a k5?

Oh yeah, that thing. It just needs tires and a new seal on tc front output and fluid changes and it's good to go :D

So...you're just gonna keep letting the bead roller project eat up the funds that it generates? :dunno:

Or are you looking to buy some other form of tooling?

The whole reason I bought the bead roller was to build a custom center console. Pre runner style with with a winters shifter etc.

Then it just kind of snowballed and I see potential for other endeavors with the tools I want to buy. So if I can make some funds to support that, blazer can wait lol. Dunes aren't moving anytime soon.

Aren't the dunes moving all the time and slowly taking over Silver Lake? Lol.

This is really cool stuff your building and you're doing a really good job in a short amount of time keep the pictures coming :waytogo:.

How much for a one of those chevy signs?

This is exactly the kind of thing you need to take to custom kitchen buildlers. Do them in 30-36" widths for backsplashes over the high end stoves and you could easily sell them for $500+.

I need a bigger bead roller to do big panels. Im really struggling with 18" of throat depth that mine has on panels that are much bigger than 20".

Once you get anywhere near the middle of the panel and then start doing wavy lines or curves, you find out quick that the panel hits the end of the throat.

This MB one is 36" deep though............. :D

True they are moving lol, but not in my lifetime will it ever move that much.

Ive been doing those in the $50-$75 range depending on what design etc.

You should get a vendor membership here and a few other forums and you could make some good money selling these. Sure seem to have a lot of demand for them.

I've been considering it. Need to sell more things first.

what's that template in the top right?

I'd consider doing some "ivy" looking cool scroll work stuff like that in the corners on the next one. That be cool I think.
I know that's just a piece of plastic art design thing but it looks great just laying there.

It's a drafting tool called a French curve. I have a whole bunch of different ones. I'm ordering a vinyl cutting machine here soon, and I will be able to add tons of details. Sandblasted designs that I couldn't fathom drawing by hand etc.
