Thanks!

Yeah when I get back I'm taking a break for a bit and gonna work on blazer. It. Needs some attention and I need to dunes.

Not what I had hoped for... But it was worth it.

Bad spot I had, plus vw people are the majority at this show and are cheap and mostly after rusty old vw parts...

The sales manager came over after the first hour and said he basically ****ed up and should have put me closer to an aisle way. Oh well though, it was a free weekend due to them putting hotel on there dime etc.

Learned a lot, met a lot of great people and some great connections. Shannon will prolly even be doing some modeling with a bds suspension truck lol.

I came home with everything except one gearhead garage sign.

Sorry to hear that, no worries man, a better opportunity will present itself. Hard work and perseverance will payoff.

How long do you think it is going to take to sell that stuff on Ebay? I mean to take pictures of everything and posting it.

Bummer that it didn't go better, but now you have lots of product to display in their store!

They still trying to carry your products?

Are you opposed to trying to sell on etsy? Yes, maybe not your target audience for the car stuff, but the more artistic stuff will fly from there.

Well that sucks the big one. At least you can roll all that stock over to the store. Depending on how that plays out maybe you just need to stick to the custom 1 off type stuff on a per order basis instead of premaking general designs. :dunno:

Gonna make a fb page specifically for my stuff. Got asked a lot today if I had one.

I have an etsy account, just havnt really posted much on it. I have been so busy the last two months I had little time to deal with it.

I've got lots of cool stuff, and I'm gonna bring a load of it up to there store when I go to pick up my beadroller.

They want me to set up for a couple hours in there showroom during some busy weekends. I think that will sell some stuff. More of the $$$ people would be present for that.

I'm ok with it, and I had a feeling this was going to be the result of this show.

I knew when I set up at 6:30 this morning that I prolly wouldn't sell much due to my location.

I was kinda in the back, and they even mentioned they should have placed me up front. Live and learn and hopefully I'll get invited back next year and I'll have a better idea of the audience and what to do.

I did actually make a lot of stuff today at the show. I had a lot of blank panels that I rolled out in front of people and had a decent audience and people had interest.

Just nobody really wanted to spend the money on artsy stuff. It's more of a show to come to that you can get parts at 15% markdown. Lots of shocks etc got sold.

I did have lady by my side all day, and she got asked by the bds crew to do a modeling thing with a truck they are building. So that was really cool. Sounds like yellow truck might get a cool bds and fox shock setup for pretty cheap....

And I'm pretty excited about that, and she was smiles all day. That makes it all worth it :D

Exactly. A lot of requests for door panels and such. People want custom with this stuff and I'm cool with that.

Al in all, it was $20 in gas, we got a free hotel room for the night, and I didn't have to work that hard. Just stand around and do what I do most any other weekend.

I had a good time, met some cool people, and came home with $100. Still $200 in the hole from frames and materials. But oh well. Gotta spend money to make money ;)

Well you definitely have the skills to pay the bills if you want to make this a legit side business. I think your biggest hurdle is marketing and a sound business plan.

Get those artsy ones on eBay.

Know anyone with an actual art gallery?????

They will sell stuff. They take a huge cut but then again "art" is substantially more than a cool beadrolled sign.

As far as eBay goes make sure your auctions end on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Get your Etsy account moving.

Get to it.

Also that's awesome about the lady and possible modeling. You might have a sugar momma situation looming:D

Also making connections is HUGE. Use that brain of yours figure out the movers and shakers. Those are the guys you want to be digging your product

Sounds like the day was a winner! :woot:

I agree with the ebay/etsy/facebook thought. Getting connected with the right customers is a big deal. Have you any aversion to making door panels? Or is that something you automatically need a bigger roller for?

This.

Another thing that I don't recall being mentioned, find a bar or even a breakfast cafe that might let you hang a few up for sale, typically you cut them in for a small percentage. And then just rotate them in and out.

Lots of good ideas.

Ill get on them, but first...

Im gonna relax for a few days...

Maybe.... :D
