congrats dude! That is a big job. You are on your way to big things for sure.

I'm thinking your top hook should have been like an inch longer

For the beadroller dies?

I miscalculated and forgot that the skateboard wheel die (the big rubber one) takes up the space of 2 of them. Otherwise I was right on track.

Still works fine though, and at that length, they don't stick past the table to catch on things.

That's like $800 in beadroller dies :haha:

And that's not counting the 2 that are loaded in the roller.

I could have bought a cheap lathe and made my own for that... lol.

I figured the length was determined so as to be equal to the table width. Was just giving ya shit.

Since the car will be killing the busiest "hey can you make me this" opportunitys of the year (aka christmas presents), I am trying to knock out any signs I can before the car gets here.

I really wanted to get this one done tonight. Something is messed up in my tig pedal, and it kept jumping from low to high amperage when it felt like it. Which makes a big mess with thin aluminum I am finding out... So I spent 2 hours gobbing filler on to weld up the corners that should have taken 20 minutes...

Was too tired to grind the welds down and finish. Will do it tomorrow.

The panel is polished under the churchy words in vinyl. Going to sandblast the panel, sand it, then peel off the vinyl lettering.

(didnt roll the words to save the guy some money).

I like you stamp thing too.

Car is going to be fun and a ton of work. As well as very good advertising when it is done.

Thanks.

Finally figuring out how to use the stamp. Gotta do it before putting any beads in it, or bends. Otherwise it turns out like junk.

Car is going to test me. Im ready to give it a go. It will be a great learning experience. I am mostly excited for the day it is done... I doubt I will want more jobs like that. But the paycheck may tell me otherwise...

How do you like your Eastwood TIG?

David

Damn dude, I heard people mention your beadrolling in your build thread, thought, what bead rolling, so I had to look it up, you went apeshit on that beadroller, good for you! Nice work man! :saweet::thumb: I like your stamp too, thats a lot better than the stickers you had earlier.

And I remember when you used to attach ground wires to rubber cruise control diaphrams, just look at you now with all your "skilz". :waytogo:

Make sure you get a LOT of communication on that killer drag radial A body man. Looks like a stock "type" suspension drag radial car with an SFI cert chassis. Its funny how the frame in the back is just left with the inner "skin" inside the rear tire to follow the rules, the original frame is barely there any more, almost comical. What are those 315X drag radials? The suspension points, although similar to stock, are all aftermarket and adjustable now even in the frame, it's crazy what they consider stock suspension any more.

Anyway, some people will want you to make all the decisions, and some people will want to know if the edges well be overlapping, butted up and sealed with sealer, etc. So communication is the key on a big job like that to make sure you give the customer exactly what they want. Thats an expensive job, but I know you got this, you got the skilz!

When they do the burnout they won't want hte car filling up with smoke, so make sure to ask if they plan to seal it up or they want you to do it or what. But thats an important thing in a drag car it they won't be able to see anything and then they have to open the door to air it out and look funny.

Have fun man, you got it!
