Wouldn't a line lock in constant use draw the battery down? Or burn up the line lock solenoid? I thought I read they are only supposed to be on for like a minute or less?

Personally, a minute long burnout is just getting started. So I know they can be on longer. But they probably get hot?

I have a feeling my time will be cut back after our second kid. But I have been making the adjustments now. I work in the evening after my kid goes to bed. And early mornings on Saturday and Sunday before "the house" is up.

My wife is needy so she needs lot's of my time also which I don't mind. Probably not on him having the blazer, he can get his own LOL. I did mention to my wife abut him having the crew cab if I fix it up and convert to single wheel 4x4. She said that's a bad idea cuz then he can take more friends with and cause more trouble.

I can't remember. Just need a constant duty solenoid. I don't know if they make them like that.

I think a 6.2 would be a perfect 16 year old kids vehicle. Not enough power to get into any trouble.
 
A lot of kids have gotten in trouble with a stock 350. And that's about equal power lol.
 
I gave up on those after twisting the inards of my last one into pieces with a 6.2 lol.

What the glass crank broke in the 6.2 and took out the whole 700? I wouldn't be surprised.

I looked at a 700 wrong once and it lost OD,3rd and 2nd.
Then I got pissed and cursed at it, it dropped 1st and Reverse.
 
I thought about you yesterday when I heard Powertour was cancelled...sorry man.
They pulled Drag week as well, and the host track is 40 min from my house. Dammit I wanted to see that!

Yeah I was seriously considering driving over to drag week too.
I figured you and Heath might be going to a day or two.
Obviously I was going to bring the cone crusher with me.

Really though, I'm not sure that powertour would have been a awesome time with a prego wife. :confused:
It might have been super hot. And she might have been uncomfortable.
Who knows.
Guess I just need to set the goal for myself of getting it on the Rd before summer is over. Go on a trip.

Left to do, if I remember my list correctly.
Tighten lower and Upper a arms.
Finish wiring (line lock/gauges)
Tighten rear sway bar.
Build exhaust mounts.
Alignment.
Front turn signals need replacement.
Mount fire extinguisher.
Adjust master cylinder pusharm.
Finish brake lines and bleed brakes.

Mount wheels and do one wheel peels.


So not much. A solid weekend and I would knock alot of that out. But this weekend isn't that weekend. We have a party to go to. So I'll keep picking items off the list.
 
Help me understand why the simplest projects turn into the biggest headaches.

When I bought the car it was missing the wiper motor/arms/ wipers. Ok no biggie, rockauto to the rescue. Then I realized with the help of Steve I needed some motor bushings.
Went to put the motor in and found two broken bolts. Drilled and tapped those and put the motor in. Tightening the bolts i broke one.
Argh!.

After fixing that I put the motor in and went to hook up the wiper control arms..... looked it over... something isn't right..... looks like I'm missing something. Upon looking it over, it appears I'm missing some sort of eccentric rod. fired up the Google machine I realized just that. I'm
Missing a rod. Ok i'll test the motor.
Nothing. After fiddling with the switch it moved. Ok good. Then the switch won't turn off.
Argh!

Super simple thing to fix turns into a huge headache.



Anyway, I guess we had party this weekend. I think that gender reveal party's are stupid.

That said. It's a good excuse to get to together with family eat some pulled pork and play cards and fellowship.

Had another sub party today to eat all the leftover food. Plus we had family from cali in.

Good weekend in the books. Long and tiring.
Wish I was having a boy. But as long as I have two healthy girls I don't care.

As far as the simple projects I feel ya, I spent 2 hours looking for gaskets I knew I had but moving in my garage is a giant game of Jenga. Really need to build a shop.
