Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

I did, I didn't buy the reversible twist pliers
Which was a mistake. It didn't allow me take the wire that goes around the bolt head to go under the wire the comes out of the bolt head. So that wasn't up to my youtube teaching spec. But I didn't want to redo the whole thing.
Plus I had trouble keeping the wire tight around the bolt head.
All in all I'm happy with it enough I don't need to redo it. But it's not even 100% in my book. For a car rear end it's fine. It's not a space craft or airplane. I will get better as I do it more.

Safety wire...I hates it...

...hates it...

...loathes it...

...is da debil!
I really enjoyed it! It was kinda fun! And it took me 45 minutes to do the first axle to 22 minutes for the second. Still probably not breaking any records. But I was happy with that improvement.
I was trying to figure out how to wrap my loose end. So I went around the first bolt and then back around the wire twice.
How would you guys do that?

Stainless isn’t bad. If you hate yourself get some inconel. That stuff will snap if you look at it wrong. One handed is a bitch, too.

For the end just make a pigtail and twist it under itself. If that doesn’t make sense let me know and I’ll make an example for you. Five in a row isn’t really preferred either. It will be fine for this application.

Yeah I know. 4 bolts are preferred.
Had I had 6 would have done 3 sets of 2.
This was the guy I watched along with a bunch of other guys.

I guess YouTube doesn't make you an expert but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

It’s like most mechanical things- that first one takes a while, second one half as long, do it another thousand times and it’s effortless. :pimp:

Well I'll be DIPPED.
When I ordered those spiders I just interwebz ordered them. I was not worried about brand and honestly figured them to be China made junk.
I figured that would be good enough as my next big purchase for the car will be a 9 in/Dana 60.
So when I then finally got here today I was very happily surprised.

Makes the pain slightly better of having to order open gears just to get back going.

Those from East Coast Gear Supply? We make stickers for them.

They've been a good customer of ours for over 12 years. In the offroad parts business, a company that's around for at least that long is generally a good one. At least that's been my experience.
