Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

Actually ordered the correct hold down. Most of my stuff doesn't even have one.
I figured with this fancy suspension. I might actually need one?

Of course, I don't need one yet. I'm sure I'll have to rebuild that 10 bolt a few more times before I get it on the Rd.
Yeah you probably don't want a battery falling into the side of the engine while hauling ass around corners and shit.

Kinda my thoughts. I suppose I might have to get a fancy one if the stock one doesn't work. Maybe some sort of billet aluminum one might be fun.

I think I know what you mean. I'd rather router them around and on things as opposed to taking the direct route straight to the battery.

Caught up on the thread, progress is looking great, including the pickle detour. Love the large brakes.

Real tangible progress has been slower then I like.
Between the rear axle setbacks and other minor issues like the battery tray. Been picking away at small things I haven't been taking pictures of. Behind that 13 inch rotor is the spindle. I had to reuse the old steering knuckle off the car, not a huge deal but probably 15-20 mins, spent taking it off the old spindle, toss it in the blast cabinet and primer/paint
Finished setting up the rear brakes for the final time, installed some gauges, put some dynomat on the fuel tank, tested the fuel pump. Made some brackets for the fuel lines. Just been knocking out alot of the little "Honey do's" that make a car build take time.

Limited time on Wednesdays. Wife had a new baby appointment. (Everything is going great) and then she had prenatal chiropractor. So I was on kid duty tonight. my battery tray came in so I tossed that in.

I needed to find a source for those stupid little fast start 5/16 bolts gm used.
Found some on Amazon through a seller called clip's and fasteners. I have bought something I can't recall from them before and remember it seemed decent.

Anyway I had some Menards rebate money so I picked up a battery on one of their 11% off deals, so 107- core- 11%-the previous rebate money- I got myself out the door for a group 34 dual side/top post battery for 65 bucks.
Would have liked a AGM or optima battery but this will work for a budgetary consideration. IMG_20200617_190404201.jpg
I have some wiring cleaning up to do to the factory harness.

I spent some time chasing my tail the last two nights trying to figure out my willwood disc/ridetech spindle situation.
The disc brake instructions don't address ridetech tall spindles. Only stock ones.
After some research and a phone call I realized I was missing some parts. Ridetech is overnighting them. 2nd issue with ridetech and they have been nothing short of fantastic to work with.

Lastly willwood likes to use lots of 12 point bolts and allen head bolts.
I have spent most of my adult life getting rid of fu cking 12 point sockets. As far as Allen's go I have a nice selection of screwdrivers and some T handles but no sockets. So I stopped by ace hardware and picked up some Craftsman. Typically I have been staying away from Craftsman and have been buying a fair bit of S&K when I need something I don't have. I no longer have access to a tool truck so S&K fills that void fairly decent.
These will be good enough to pop on my torque wrench to get final installation torque.IMG_20200617_191229474.jpg

Snowman out.

Looking good. S&K makes nice tools. I like the Carlyle tool line from Napa too. Most times I just look them up in the catalog and have to order what I want. They are lifetime warranty and I just like how they are. Most socket sets can be had in nice plastic cases that go well in a service truck and a lot of sets come on rails also.

Yeah I was going to Amazon some S&K Allen sockets and those 12 points. But they wanted more then I wanted to spend. I still rock alot of Craftsman stuff, but I've mostly stayed away since they started manufacturing overseas.
I suppose they are still ok. But I know S&K is 100% USA made. And alot cheaper then the snap-on and Mac stuff I have.

Happy Father's day to you all.

Anyway have a good source for wiring?
Had to stop and stock up on a few sizes and didn't really like the brand/ price point of the stuff I was finding. Hopefully someone has a good website to order some decent wiring/connectors.

Good weekend on the ol' chevie... Lots of things done and not a single picture taken. :surepal: sorry dean!:rotfl:

Thanks Brian...

Thanks Brian...
Maybe tomorrow I'll take a few pictures. Stupid phone is on its last legs. Any photo seams to instantly kill the battery unless it's plugged in.
Doesn't make pictures fun when it kills your Johnny Cash!

Just for @max 02 .
Bolts and spacers and bushings I needed from ridetech came in.
Finished putting the spindles together and painted them up.
Tightened the spindle nuts down until it stripped out. Then backed it off until I the cotter pin went in. Tight is tight, eh?

Finished wiring on the bat-tree.

And Mounted the EFI. Was kinda looking for a good way to pound a square peg in a round hole. Or a flat ecu on a round fender. I didn't really have much of an idea for this. Then I remembered when I was riding my 400ex and crashed it into a cactus in Penrose Co. I broke a bunch of stuff and I found these little nylon spacers that I used for fixing the ex back up. I thought these would make perfect stand offs.
So I picked up a few on a run to get charcoal. I got some rubber bushings as well. Have no idea if that was necessary but it sure seemed like something gm would do. Got some flanged bolts and bolted it down. IMG_20200623_152606611.jpg
Thought it turned out fine.

Tonight, I tested the fuel system for leaks.
All my an lines tested good but the fast fuel pressure regulator housing leaked.
Annoying but easy fix. Tighting the housing screws seemed to do it.

Made a nice ground hardness for the fuel pump and sending unit.
All wiring I ran was loomed up and shrink-wrapped.

Oh yeah, when I ate it over that stupid cactus. I got cactus needles up and down my whole stomach and chest.
Had to go back take a few shots of whiskey at camp while my wife pulled them out with a Leatherman.
Good times.

10-4 good buddy.
