Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

no best thing i have to buying a 67 chevelle on my anniversary, is buying her an infiniti on my birthday.I think i need to take notes. You are obviously doing things right in the vehicle buying on coinciding dates and i am not

Even the guy I bought the Chevelle from was surprised when I told him we had to get going to go on our anniversary date. Ha!

Congrats Beags. Another kiddo is great news. Good thing the Chevelle can fit two car seats in the back. Might have to set them up with more than lap belts because if this thing corners like you plan those car seats are going to end up on the sides in a tight bend. With both of them girls giggling like mad I would bet too.

Probably is most to do with event staff and possible exposure to a lot of people, and the legal department and HR looking at that and saying "Fock no".

Don't blame you. Once you go that far it kinda kills the fun factor.

I don't even know if it matters about clogging up the other thread.
But what the hell, i'll write this in here.
Typically I don't get into big into my future plans. I feel like you just set up yourself for open criticism and somewhat of some failure if you can't get it to come fruition.

Anyway, I have repeatedly made comments about the redoing the chassis on this car this winter. As of recently I've been thinking about that. I think my goal will be to secure an additional chassis and start building on it.
But, I really want some before times to know how well my chassis/suspension works. I can't do that if everything is closed down due to covid this summer.
As it is, I have plenty of other little projects to work on chevelle and non chevelle related to fill my time for winter. Then I can get some track time in. Swap chassis and rerun the car to see improvement or not.

I knew a guy once that did derby cars. He would pull the body off and fully weld the seams on the frame. He showed me a before and after on like an LTD that was already a boxed frame. It was amazing how much it stiffened it up. A spare frame would be a great way to go for you so you can build a chassis then just swap over when ready.

I was cuting the factory welds out and rewelding the seams on stuff up to 15 years ago. I did my monte carlo ss, a 69 chevelle, a 80s ford ranger-302 swap. Another monte carlo ss. Like I said I have a different idea for this. It bit more advanced, but still retaining a close to factory design. Will it be better? Idk, thats what i want to know.

Should clarify, looking at copying that kit. As far as bracing
I got ya. That style of bracing seems to be popular. Lots of guys from drag cars to street cars, to twisty cars do a similar set up.

The hot ticket for a and g bodys is to dump the rear crossmember for some round tube to mount coilovers. Add bracing with round tube. And box the frame with a convertible kit for a bodys and just box the frame for g bodys.

When I back halved my monte carlo ss I used 2×3 tube for the rear frame rails. Fish plated on the inside of those pieces of tube.
Boxed my factory frame rails up the sides, added 2x3 crossmembers. With round tube hoops for drive shaft safety. Then i reinforced the rear torque boxes with 1/8 plate. Built a rear 2x3 crossmember. And mounted the parallel 4 link bars on 7/8 heims. I have round tube bracing transferring load from the heim area back to the frame in triangular fashion.
Then the whole frame was rewelded.

Then the car got put on hold while I decided to move from around Wyoming, Wyoming to Illinois to Wisconsin to Illinois to Colorado to Illinois.

Right before I bought the 67, I picked up a bare g body frame to replace my cut up one. I no longer wish to have a track only car. Of course i already tubbed my monte carlo ss body so it will be some work to restore all the tubs/ rear seat/ trunk floor area.
I actually need a parts g body to cut out that junk from. Probably the easiest quickest way.

Maybe I'll get back on it soon. Or move across the country again. Idaho looks nice this time of year. ;)
