Beast88 1970 c10 build is recovered

This reminds me of way back when. I lived in Carson City, was having a shop put in a good exhaust for me. Night before I stripped down and installed some hooker headers. Ready to go first thing in the AM. Took a back route dirt road as far as I could. Had to cross the highway. I came out and idled slowly down a hill to a red light to cross. :haha:An old bronco was sitting at the light with his top off. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Right before I pulled up next to him the light turned green. That guy didn't need coffee that morning.

:haha: I love stuff like that.

Whenever I get a chance I ask myself," do they want to hear the pipes?"

And the answer is always "oh yeah, they want to hear the pipes"

:haha:

I'm guessing they don't actually want to hear the pipes.

It situations like this that I learned a long time ago not to get into deals like this. Unless I am dealing with somebody that I have known for a long time it is "pay in full or not at all".

Well I did know him for years and he had plenty of money to spend on it just never thought to make payments.
I let it go for longer than I should have because I had nowhere to put it.

Is this a factory big block truck?
No.
It had a 350/sm465.

I wanted a period correct 396 but it turned out to be a 402.
It does have a 50th anniversary color and interior in perfect shape though.
Now that I can post pictures I will take some new ones and update the for sale thread.

Ever get it running?

Martin
Yeah I have it running now.
It was timed wrong and had a bunch of vacuum lines not connected and not capped.
I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can finish putting the brakes, exhaust, shocks and connect the driveshaft to see if it drives.
I have another thread going on that. I couldn't find this thread so I started another, I believe it is in the for sale section.

I was always amazed he couldn’t get that thing running.

What ever came of that guy?

Martin
