This Sub is sweet, I really like the white with black rallies. Looks great so far

Thanks! I've always been partial to, and have tried to create in my four auto renovations, a plausible MFA (Modified Factory Approach). It is what I would have built for myself had I been on the line back in '91. Black rallies and trim rings are what I would have marked on the build sheet every other day.

The lift kit came with some cheapo drop brackets for the front axle brake lines...so right in the misc. parts bins that stuff went.

I took the stock lines over to a shop here in Lubbock ("The Farmer's Hose," yep that is the name...) where they will fabricate any hydraulic hose you can imagine. In my case, they reused the nonflexible caliper bottoms and silver-soldered (see 3rd pic) them to new hose clamps. Attached to the new clamps are new hoses that were 6" longer as well as new body-side hose connectors.

As you can see, the hoses are tweaked a bit on install. There is plenty of extra flex, so I will fine tune the clocking on the hoses to make sure there is no rubbing or kinking.

that's cool, i'm not a fan of those drop brackets either. i always just zip tied them to the shock.

Well not to boast here, but I just made that semi-acronym up out of nowhere as I was typing. As I am a contractor for the DoD, abbreviated communication is the norm. There are actually paid personnel that record the libraries of the jargon... but I digress...

In my mind I define MFA as this: MFA is what true car-guys at the factory would have done with the technology, parts supply support, and freedom from corporate marketing, overhead, and rules (freedom from corporate culture) while they were building cars and trucks for the public at the time they worked and lived. This is sort of what transpired much earlier and later (pre and post 70s-90s) in automotive history. You see the MFA spirit alive and well in the SVT and SRT business sectors of Ford and Dodge.

Nothing wrong with hail damage... It is the "Rust of Texas." Every car has it, at least to a minor degree.

Pick your poison; Rust Belt America style rust from top to bottom that is on everything everywhere (every nut, bolt, clamp, strap, seam, corner, bend, and intersection), OR hail damage.

I'm going with hail damage 6 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Please don't misinterpret this; I love the Rust Belt. That term is a pejorative term for the land and people that spawned what was to become THE strongest, most powerful, most innovative industrial legacies of the human history, bar none. I lived there and I love the people and appreciate the various cultures. But I hate the rust. It ruins really good cars. It never sleeps and you can't kill it.

Until I get the truck fixed and painted I'm going with the "adds character" angle. I grew up in the Rust Belt and know of what you speak. My 25 year old Suburban still wears its original shocks and exhaust system ( for now). Pretty amazing!
 
I'm not sure what you're talking about. My **** is rusty and hail dinged......
