That is bad-ass! A street-legal rig that is too big to valet. Las Vegas rocks. It is a 20 minute plane ride from Lubbock on the Southwest 4:55 PM on Friday afternoon (on your watch with the 2 hour time difference).
So I took a vaca day on Friday. Following is little punch-out trick that I couldn't resist to do. I was about to install the splash guards and I noticed that the fender wells had 22 years of road patina. I had thoroughly blasted them at the carwash sometime back, so the sheet steel was bright and clean-ish for paint. Taped and masked everything as needed and hit it with flat black rust-o-ileum and THEN install the splash guards.
No point in doing this other than it was a great way to spend a beautiful winter day away from my 3-monitored foxhole at the corporate office.
Earlier in the thread, I stated that the truck was rust free. Not true. Following are some "rust" pictures from down under. Apparently, my truck has a case or rock-chip freckles.
I love it when the UPS man stops by the house before I get home from work! Look what he left on the front porch; a new rear triple chrome bumper. I must say that I have not been impressed with several of the parts that I bought from LMC, but whoever is making the bumpers that LMC is retailing is doing a great job. Fit and finish on the front bumper was perfect. Rear looks to be the same quality. Zoom-in on that thing!

GM was really saving big money and skipped the thread locker or whatever it would have taken to build a tilt steering that would not FALL APART in your lap.
Tore it all down and put Loctite on critical bolts. Also, repacked steering shaft bearings, replaced turn signal canceling spring and cleaned and lubed all parts.
