bed of k5..

To get the actual bed for a K5 would mean cutting the tub in half, its one piece, like an El camino.

However you got it, 150 seems low, I've been trying to get a 8 foot Dodge bed for ages and the cheapest one I found was $300. And it was junkyard worthy.

yeah I know it has to be cut I rolled my k5 and parting out . Guy called and said his is rusted out . but thank you I am Not sure what it's worth never parted out my truck :-(

You would be selling him the tub. Fire wall back. This would need to have the title go with it. Figure 30 hours to strip it. Unless you are leaving all of the lights, electrical and interior. I would say $1000 for a titled rust free non stripped tub. $500 minimum stripped with title.

hhe's determined to buy just the "bed" . The cab is getting cut and scrapped.. no title. I'm keeping it. The vin# seemed to "jump" somewhere. .

Do you have a sawzall? 3-4 hours of your time will cut that body up completely. 150 doesn't sound to bad, but what is 4 hours of your time worth to you?

I do have a sawzall I plan on cutting up what can't be used . Keeping the axles for my new k5. Same tall 3.42 gears.
And guy said he would cut it off so I wouldn't physically have to do the cutting of the back .

He may be getting a deal, but if you don't have another line on selling it and he's willing to do the work, I'd probably just take the $150.

Then take the money and run. No one else but the scrap man will care about that part in CA. If you take it to scrap it is worth far less than the $150.

I paid $200 for that exact part of a K5 about 10-12 years ago...but this isn't California. I'd say if you don't have to do anything other than count the money it's a decent deal for you and the buyer.
