So some new parts are brewing?

This is just some of my own junk. After snapping some ujoints at the last outing I thought I'd just go ahead and make that a thing of the past.

Gotta put the bolt pattern in it yet. 4, 1/2" grade 8's and 4, 1/2" alignment pins are the plan.

Keep us informed. I like what I see so far and it sounds great if you can get a drive shaft for it to work. Beefy !!!:eek1:

Wow :eek1: !

Now, if I only knew what the hell I was looking at :doah: !!!

This is the pinion yoke for the 14BFF modified to be a flange that will work with 1480 ujoints. Hope that helps. I'm gona try and get some bolt holes in it this weekend sometime and an Ujoint on it.

You just be sure to let us know when we can buy them;)

Holy Crap Kert....should I just bring you up some Terragator UJoints?

I see how you used the old yoke, could the same be done with a 205 yoke for the 32 spline crowd?

so is it a big metal ring that you welded to a stock yoke that you machine the outers off? thats what it looks like. One pic and a weird angle makes it hard to see all the details.

why alignment pins? does that give it more strength torsionally?

I imagine they'd make installation a lot easier too.

The pins wouldn't likely make the torsional strength much greater. Most of the torque is taken up by the friction between the two plates, plus the alignment pins are probably too loose of a fit to really take any torque.

I think most stock setups that are like this use a pilot in the middle of them to keep everything centered. Maybe the alignment pins are his replacement for that :dunno:
