behold the perfect cucv!!!

My thoughts were that it was prolly a H1 turbo set-up and it was easier to redo a bit of sheetmetal than to re-route all the turbo stuff. :dunno:

Speculation: Shortens up the long side transfer tube so less heat is lost to the engine bay; meaning more is available to produce boost. Should also improve throttle response. If the kit or install is very well worked out it will equally space each cyl's exhaust pulse to the turbo so that there is a constant & even pulsating exhaust flow in the normal operating range. Sort of like tuning header tube lengths to work best in a given RPM range.

I would think this is better too, but I am told it makes no difference with forced induction. I know the heads are different with the centermount turbo, so to get this set up you need to change the heads out. Only available with the HMMWV and newer vans.

It's about as silly as calling my truck a stock K5 because all the parts can be found on some version of GM pick-up...
