because its an electronic mechanical hybrid pump. and as far as the 4 different injection systems you can get for a B cummins. its by far the poorest setup/ having the electronic modue right on top of the hot pump, useing fuel to TRY and cool and lubricate the thing. even with a FASS or good aftermarket pump and fuel pressure guage. they can fail with no warning or reason. there were no less than 5 different injection pumps on my '98.5 24v with 180,000km on it.
the P7100, the CP3 HPCR are superior fuel systems, even the VE rotary is known for great fuel economy and longevity.

I think I'd scrap the 5600 in favor of the 4500. Ive got them both, and in the woods, I much prefer the 4500's gearing.
54 inches-been following your build, i was sorry to hear about the fire, glad to see your back on your feet. now i just gotta convince my wife to let me build a garage next year so my mechanical skill don't go into winter hibernation!!
demon 44-well i guess if the pump craps in my towpig it'll be p7100 time! i'll have to look into the conversion i hear it is pricey.
is it just me or does it seem like everyone thinks that the ve trucks are worth their weight in gold? the sellers any ways.

well, they do make more power out of the box. if they think they are worth more, i think it goes back to their knowledge of the cummins engines (or lack thereof).

Thanks bud! I just picked up another project, but I am getting paid to build it and then when the guys are done with it, they will give it to me!
Nothing 4x4, so don't get too excited.
Wife's back working about a month ago, so we are playing catch up.
