bench seat, worth it?

if i went back to bench. would need 81-up silverado bench seat. better feel and then recover in what i want.

but heck i got 3 bench seats in stock and tossed a few in the days. 225 kind of high and only thing going for it is hard to find black.

Yeah, came out of an 83 silvy. Looks like it was re-upholstered at one point. The black is what I`m looking for, and vinyl isn`t what I was heart set on, but it`ll due. I got him down to $200, going to tell him $180 and see what he says. Just not sure if its worth it.
 
personally, i think the guy is out of his mind,,,just me though, look around, you can get a nice newer model "take out" of newer trucks for about that price, sometimes alittle less.
 
i dont think its worth it, but if u do buy it, personally i think $50 is high for a bench, but im cheap and i can wait till a friend junks a truck or something
 
Certainly been recovered, stock should have been cloth. I don't see how it would be worth that much money, maybe $100. How much is a new seat cover anyway?
 
I have found MINT ones in junkyards..... and they pull it for you... for $125... all day long... so Id flat out tell him... $100-$125 or you will pass.. but dont sound ignorant.. just tell him that is the going price and with todays economy that might even be high now...

I picked mine up from a junkyard.... all inerior trim too.... all black and seatbelts....

the only thing im not sure ....if i eventually get stuck and deep enough... will this seat stay nice...

FRACK NO! IMHO...I say get style you want and then buy a cover.
 
Got him down to $150. FWIW, I checked the local yards, and most want like $75 for ones in wayyy worse condition.
 
Hey for fun throw some Armorall vinyl wipes on it and dont wear a seat belt while taking a hard turns... you go flying :haha: works great when you have a lady partner you want to get close to ;) :pimp:

Also remember to not melt your ass off in the summer time on a black vinyl seat... :haha:That was the sole reason I switched to cloth...
 
Yeah, I know it will be crazy hot in the summer, especially with no A/C. I figure I`ll stick a cloth cover over it in the summer time. If I find one nice enough, and one that will last, I may even keep it on there..I think it`s worth it for just a seat with the cushions, etc in tact. Not squatted on the edges, etc.
 
Why bench? why not to buckets out of a car? That way you can build a crazy center console
 
That`s what I planned on, but I didn`t want to have to deal with making mounts....
 
mounts are easy dude, I got enough metal stock in the shed to build up some nice frames!
