BENDER stays in hibernation with me

Anybody have experience with the "cam-lock" style harnesses? My rear belts are latch style and that's all I've ever used. But that is for the rear passengers, you don't need to jump in and out. I'm curious if the cam-lock is safe, comfortable, and easy to use

Ive used both, honestly they are both comfortable.
I personally think the latch style is easier to use.

Honestly, I always considered those kind of a joke. Like the stuff little ricers use lol. Glad to here they're a viable option

I like them and feel very safe in them.

Crotch belts are annoying anyways and you would need to be doing alot of really high speed stuff to ever submarine out of your harness without one imo.

Not being a turd or anything, but if I had to pay for new harness, it would spec SFI 16.1

They are a little more expensive. But I've seen guys walk away from 150+ MPH roll overs. That's worth a few bucks

Do you know any drag racer, circle track or dirt guys? Ask for their old belts

no no, I wasn't even considering a crotch belt, not needed
and I might be able to get some old belts out of a Baja 1000 truck, whatever truck class is just under Trophy prolly. I guess they have to change them every year or whatever, so he's got pretty fresh belts left over.

Thats what Ive always done, from my own cars no less. Mooched some more off the neighbor last week.

And no, i dont use the submarine belt

1) I wish I had wired the truck like this the first time, some 6 years ago. One panel constant, one keyed on. Easy

2) Having spent a lot of time cutting my DIY4X dash to fit the roll cage, I can say confidently that I hate cutting aluminum. OMG ..... oh and it feel like I'm cutting sooooo much of the dash just to fit. Since it's a very shallow dash and all.

More to come. BB is right around the corner.

Jumped on them but not quite ready to run them. No money for gears right now and need to push front axle forward more.

What gearing do you have now?

I went from 38.5" SX's to 44" boggers without changing a freaking thing (other than more fender cutting and pushing the front axle forward just a little bit more....I say throw them suckers on and run that biotch :thumb:. Now granted I do need a little more gearing and it will happen eventually, but I bet you will be just fine if you threw those things on

Front bumper and all the cage work looks good (I haven't looked at your thread in a long time I guess). I assume you wanted to get rid of your original from bumper from what happened at the rock pile on Pritchett last year? :D

37 with 4.88
Perfect for crawling and freeway
But my old 38s rubbed everywhere, so 40s are gunna tear stuff up. Just dont have time to make them work.

Rock pile is one of many examples where it just stuck out too much. :( but I had a blast with that bumper. I think it went to a member here, not sure. Actually, I bought it and my rear from an old member here lol

Reverse bulbs blew years ago, not messing with it, ripped out all the wires
Now I've got 3x3 LED pods flush mounted in the bumper with a switch in the dash.

So happy. Got some more stuff going on, but too late for pictures. Also found out my alternator is putting out 11.8v. Glad I caught that before I headed off to BB.

I got cam lock belts on my rig...the best belts E-bay had to offer. I think they were $50 total...they are total rice but orange is a hard color to find

Lots of good ideas on your build, I used your crossmember build for ideas when I built mine. I seen one mention of getting one, but do you have traction bar yet? Wondering bc I made the back bar of member to mount my traction bar and yours seems alot narrower. Did you buy the speaker boxes or make those? Kinda strange you had clearance issues with the crossover , I'm running ORD crossover,tc 4" springs, and zero. Mine cleared fine.

I have zero pictures or video from BB16 :( The truck did great though. I got up stuff I either didn't last year or didn't attempt. Body damage is light but it did tweak my driver door some. Just need to adjust the hinges to compensate. I've got some cage noise from it rubbing on stuff. I plan to plate in around the floor, firewall, windshield, and roof. This should give me a more rigid body, since I'm already solid mount from the B hoop back. Other than that I now have ZERO oilcan sounds when all twisted up. I love the cage, seats, and belts. Also loving the new electrical changes, dome and reverse lights :D

No trac bar :(
Made speaker boxes, then put hurculiner on
The clearance issues were with my D44 axle, which as a different tierod location. I think with my new pitman arm and straight draglink it would have cleared.

Dude that's a bummer about no pictures but at least it worked killer. 3 Wheeler for life
