BENDER stays in hibernation with me

I got the new races pressed in. Taking them out was much easier. Looking back, this D60 was in great shape. All I really needed to do was switch out the DRW stuff. The upper king pin is in great shape, well greased, plastic bushing very nice, as well as the lower bearing and race. Since I bought all the new stuff, why bother with old. There should be NO reason for death wobble.

This thing looks mean as h3ll!:woot:

Thanks dood!!

It's coming along. Hopefully (odd thing to say) work isn't too hectic next week. If so, I can take a few days off and get it running. It is incredibly close, but I have no time to work on it. :(

I understand what you mean. Took me like 2 montha to do my interior cuz i only got like 1 day a week to work on it. Shoulda been a couple week project

been reading through this thread (not done yet), I might have missed it but I was wondering what harness you got specifically from ez? I have power windows and locks....but I didn't really want a 21 circuit

it was the 21, simply having more than enough is perfect, till it's not enough :)

yeah I guess thats what I oughta get, my junk was orginally a diesel, then the previous owner put a sbc in it, I was planning to leave the wiring the way it was, looked clean enough...the other day upon a closer look and trying to sort out what I didn't need I got frusterated and just ripped all the wiring out. your truck looks good man, keep up the good work!

Well, I got the knuckles back on with the springless caps and WFO crossover arm. Learned my tierod is too long. I ordered if for my old D44. At least I can cut it down, if it was too short I'd be screwed, unless I could get the length from unscrewing the rod ends. The tierod is the HD one ORD offers. Now I need to take it back off and find out if it's solid or hollow. I think it's their .375 wall DOM, but it's tapped. So I would need to cut and re-tap the hole, since an insert wont fit. I'll need to make sure to cut the standard rotation threaded end, that way it's possible to find someone to tap it.

It's always something. At least I got some new fuel line. But, found out my return line needs different ends. Kinda hard to go into detail, just know I might be cutting a door in my bed for the sending unit. I'm not dropping the tank for this. :(

I'm getting good at dropping the tank. Like 20 minutes. No biggie.

I'll by the beer :)

My exhaust gets in the way, hitch, skid, and then the tank comes out. Been thinking of doing an easy access door, just to change the pump out if need be.

Some pictures of the front end done. Cut and welded my draglink. Had to cut down the tierod from previous D44 length. The tierod was also hitting the diff cover, so I went with the offset tod ends. Hopefully it doesn't continue to hit after the HD cover goes on.

I have horrible negative camber on the passenger side wheel. I didn't notice that till now. I'm going to throw my 4' level on the tire, put my angle finder on, and hope to get it as close as possible. Does that sound like a good method for finding what spindle shim I need? And where can I find one? Oreilly's doesn't have the ring style, just the lower king pin adjustable thing.

Also, my custom Y pipe now hits my new oil pan. So I've opted to cut it in half to run it temporarily from shop to shop, about a mile of residential driving. The passenger side it open, the driver side is still connected. This way I can run the O2 sensor for the FAST system.

I haven't done my final steering adjustments yet, so some things are still loose. I went with a straight draglink for clearance issues I was having. I also went with a Ford van pitman arm since the ORD arm was just too close to the leaf springs for me. At only 4" lift, it seemed "kits" just weren't working out.

Still trying to figure out the FAST system. Having a hard time motivating myself since just about every day is a failure with this thing.

Keep it up dude. It's all coming together slowly but surely. I can realate too. Seems like everything I try to do on my truck turns into a big ordeal that's a lot more trouble than it should be for some reason. Some guys have all the luck. :dunno: Oh well. Hang in there. You'll get it.

Are you kidding me? Look at where you started back in 2010 and where you are now? You've made AMAZING progress!

Bro... You need a Jack & Coke, a few hours, and an extra set of eyes.... :waytogo:

Swear ta gawd, Have a drink w/ a buddy, and stare at the rig.
It'll work itself out.

New perspective.

Tie rod hitting Diff cover

Check out how Supermotard750 did his Tie rod above the leaf spring. Plenty of clearance and it don't hit the diff cover.
I plan to copy this pretty soon.

I've seen it work well on the trail. :waytogo:

Yeah, it's high steer. I had several things go in the direction of stock tierod location, so I just finished the steering with what I had. I still have the other tierod ends, they will go with the truck as spares and be used if I go high steer.
