Due to much ball busting,Im gonna go ahead and start a thread on this thing :D

When Cheryle took a turn for the worse her truck was offered up for sale to her extended family on our club board. I was interested but I didnt feel right about even looking at it because she was still alive. But I was assured by Dan (Gokartergo) and Cheryles dad that she would be happy if I had it. So I agreed to take it a few days before she passed.

For sure not the direction she was headed, but Im going to put my spin on what she started :D

I spend some time in the desert racing from time to time and have always been a fan of vintage class 4 and 8 trucks. So thats the direction this is headed,a wannabe prerunner/class 4 truck :tongue1:

Its been slow going but its far enough along for me to start a build thread I guess.

Its a 77 K10,GM crate 350/350/203,Dana 44/14 bolt both open with 4.10s,4" Tuff Country front and rear springs,37-12.5-15 SSRs.

When I brought it home.It ran out of gas putting it on the trailer and I had to borrow some gas from Cheryles neighbor :haha:

Picked up a stepside bed for it . Because everyone knows, stepsides are faster in the desert

Let me get my 4 year old in bed and I will post up some more :woot:

Just to give you an idea how slow this project has been moving at times, start to finish this bumper took about 5 months to git done :doah:

Pulled a lift leaf,a load leaf, and installed 2"drop shackles in an attempt to get it level and improve the ride.Got rid of the tube grill and found a correct one to cut up and throw on.

I wanted to ditch the saddle tanks and run a 32 gallon Blazer tank. And I wanted to mount it with the two rear Blazer crossmembers. My friend Chevysmithz71 knew where there was a Blazer upside down in a ravine on private property. He got permission to go down and cut the frame off just in front of the fuel tank and hauled it out for me :thumb:

I made the rear one bolt in,the front one is welded in.

I picked up a used tank and while smoking some crack I thought maybe I could straighten it out enough to use.

Well the crack wore off and I just bought a new tank :haha:

Chevysmithz71 gave me this sweet fuel tank skid that came on a project he had.

Straightened it out a little and added some HP/Speed with some dimples :pimp:

I ended up having to clearance it a little to clear the 14 bolt.

Good to see the truck back in action! Skid plate looks cool from the back!

Made a fuel filler bracket and reused one of the fillers off the fleet side bed :pimp:

More HP/speed with some dimples :haha:

One of the little things I have done.I got the earlier sheet metal brackets for the core support so I could run the grill off my old 74. It still has Moab mud on it from BB06 :D

Awesome Frizz! I know you'll do it proud and somewhere up there Cheryle will be smilin as she looks down. :waytogo:

This thread reminds me of the Lyrics to "riding with private malone"
"This car was once a dream of mine, now it belongs to you"
"And though you may take her and make her your own"
"You'll always be riding with Private Malone"

Love it!

I didn`t know Shewheeler (before my time) but I sure she would be proud! :waytogo:

Why was it that you went with spring under in the front?
Don`t get me wrong...I like it and it`s different but I can`t remember what the advantage is for a desert truck.

I made a whole thread on it in the pre runner section:waytogo:
