Bertha, picking up where Shewheeler left off.

Confession is good for the soul...and that fuel cell cage/assembly look really good so far! Great attention to detail, and well thought out. :waytogo:

It's is! I have been dodging the question for months, "So what are your plans for this thing"? And I have been saying "uuhhhhhhhh...it's just a play toy". My dad sees the pile of parts and is fairly good with math. Pretty sure he has been on to me for a while :haha:

Thanks a lot :thumb:

Exactly! Because racecar :woot:

Is it going to be street legal?

Martin

Fo sho!

It would be unpossible to tow to the mall and still retain legitness...there for it will remain registered and insured :haha:

For the rally stuff it has to be tagged and insured.

Besides the excessive dB's , the is one of the most street legal trucks I have had in a long time.

Racetruck! I've needed a good excuse to put a service bed on this dodge like my last one. Pit support and logistics/transport coming your way!

Sweet :thumb:

I can use the help Avery.

Zero progress building wise :dunno:

Figured out my exhaust I think and ordered parts.

All 3" :pimp:

The two offset pieces are to get around the transfer case, the U is to make turn downs, and there is also a 4' straight piece.

And after months of shock research, talking to shock techs, figuring out what I wanted, and freaking about out how I'm going to actually pay for what I really wanted,.... I pussed out and went cheap on shocks :doah:

Fox 2.5 14" 3 tube piggy back resivior bypasses :zombie15:

Should be here in a couple weeks.

I think I have officially gone full retard. No turning back now:D

The plan is to go fast and not wad it up :haha:

What other side? There will be a shock hoop on one end and the u bolt plate on the other :D

Thanks a lot Greg! If I have any questions I will not hesitate to ask....someone else first :haha:

I heart fox shox.

So exciting :thumb:
Are you ordering bumps as well?

No air bumps. Going to use the bump zone of the shock and a .5 or .625 tall poly bump for a hard stop.

That's good. I'm glad she took it well

We will see. The shocks hit the card last week, and the springs hit the card and shipped today :D

And the ordering of dodads continues...

Since these are here and all, I went ahead and ordered the components for the 2 link setup I wanna build. Might as well figure out the 2 link now because I only want to break the packs down once so I can cycle the rear end :thumb:

And maybe while the rear end is sorta out I could booger this setup to the back of it :D

2-link? Sounds tricky! :)

How's a 2 link work?

img_4144-(3).jpg

I didn't even know there was a name for this setup til a couple years ago :D. It's like a 4 link with no upper links. The ideal setup is one where you get near zero binding through the total range of travel. Zero is not possible, but extremely little is possible through lots of cycling of the rear end and exparamenting with different mountin points and link lengths. A poly bushing on one end of the link can take care of the minimal binding that might occur.

Some various threads with pros/cons, bickering about what works and doesn't, and setup tips :D

So it's kind of like a traction bar setup? Only with some geometry involved so the suspension can still move up and down?
