Best carb - Q-jet?

I figure =d I might as well go ahead and get a new carburetor. I was looking at an edelbrock 650, but I've been doing some reading on the Q-jets. Would it be better for my truck especially when off-road? Sounds like the Q-jet is better ?
Here's a description of the rebuilt Q-jet. :
750 CFM late style M4ME electric choke type Quadrajet for 350 engine TRUCK applications. This carb has 73 jets 52M primary metering rods and DA secondary rods, it was assembled using only the highest quality components, it features: All new parts and gaskets including brand new electric choke, new pull-off, float, needle and seat , re-colored castings , brass bushings in the throttle shaft,re-finished base, yellow zinc plating on all linkages and hardware, casting plugs are sealed with epoxy to prevent leak-down into the intake manifold.Base gasket included.

I prefer the q-jet hands down to any other carb when off road. No other carb can attain the angles that a q-jet can. That carb may work for you, but without some specs on the engine we won't be able to tell if the jets and metering rods will need to be changed.

stock to moderate mill, quadrabog, hands down...

it's a 78 350, long tube headers, holley intake, that bout it

I have taken my truck to 35+ degrees side angle, uphill, downhill, and it idles great with my HOLLEY TRUCK AVENGER!!! plus it makes more power than any carb I have ever used (Q-jet, Edelbrock)

Quadrajet for sure . I have stalled mine twice ...... once in Moab when I never adjusted for altitude ( home is under 1500 feet ) and once at home when standing on the rear bumper ( that was ****in fun too ) :thumb:

Alright, looks like the Q Jet and an adapter plate are in order!

The holley idles rough, floods, and stalls the truck..so hopefully the Qjet won't. The holley will go on the shelf to be rebuilt i guess

Time to set the timing and pray there"s no vacuum leaks

With the Holley that is DESIGNED FOR OFFROAD USE none of what you said about the Holley is true! I was there when pauley383 stalled in AZ and drove through the EXACT same spot and had no problems with my Holley.

Ahh , you have like a city block on me in wheelbase , of course your not going to stall , Im an orange and your an apple :deal:  :thumb:

yeah but im talking about street driving, it hasnt been off road yet

get the Qjet. You can get a remaifactured from Elderbrock for 300-400 and new is around 600. Elderbrock still has some old stock of the Qjet but once it is gone it is gone as they stopped making it several years ago. This is the only source for new qjets.
