I beleive I have met some guys that know him. Think his land is off of nickle-sawmill (cant remember exactly) but its off of 1774 right there in magnolia.

Correct. He lives off of Nicol-Sawmill. He had mentioned that he was going to be having another get together sometime in August as a farewell party for some friends that are moving. I need to call him and see if they have had the party yet. If not, I'll let you know. Firends and friends of friends all seem to be invited as long as everyone behaves accordingly. He's a gracious host, so just respect the fact that he lets everyone come out to his place and have a good time.

ccant believe nobody commented on that. you guys are slacking.

Not exactly sure what you are saying. But the 1.5" block was in the truck from the factory. This block is needed to center the rear axle.

Hey guys.

Forgive me for being a n00b but I was looking through all the 12" kits. I keep seeing the "Kit box w/shocks." What all comes in that cause from what I see its like 769.00. I keep searching but all I can draw from the title is shocks & maybe the steering correction parts? What all is in it?

I think this got lost on the last page. I'm really curious if anyone knows exactly what comes in it.

Thanks!

where did you find it that cheap? new? most places are like $1200 or so for the 12". i'm not sure. maybe that doesnt come with steering correction. dunno

That doesnt include the springs or anything else. I was just wondering what all it contained cause I found a site where I can buy all the part seperate. Now I would rather buy everthing that I want the first time instead of what they want to give me in the kit. I saw that when I was looking throught the quote I got from 4wheelparts.

On the steering you are going to want to check on crossover.

No doubt about it.

AND

Block on block action is bad. One block is kinda scarry because they arent even bolted onto the spring pack, but 2 :eek1: :eek1:

sorry i miss read your post bout the kit for $769.

what you should do is buy the shocks and leafs. then once that is all on you will be able to measure and get all the stuff for cross-over, and driveshafts as well. then you only buy once.

what axles are you going to use? what gears?

I was thinking about getting a 14b for the rear and maybe just upgrading to 3/4 ton (8 lug) hubs in the front with the D44 for now.

I realize this isn't a complete kit but I saw this on another board and thought I'd pass it along just in case - Custom Springs For Sale

As for the kit box, I was always under the impression that was the box with hardware (blocks, u-bolts, brake hose extension brackets, etc). I can't see what would cause it to cost so much unless the box also includes shocks, brake hoses and maybe steering components. I would call the manufacturer directly and ask for a break down of the parts.

I'd be interested to see pics of the 1.5" blocks. My 91 did not come with any blocks on the rear. I also don't understand how this block is necessary to center the rear axle.

That sounds like a zero rate block

I have a tapered block from the factory on my camper special.... removed it now.. but is like 2 1/4" on one side and 2 3/4" on the other side...

How do you know that block came from the factory? I'm sure you did not buy that truck new.

Fwiw, that block looks like the typical 2" lift block. On Ford and Dodges trucks with an OE block there will be an arm protruding on the inner side for the bump stop to hit.

Link?

The cheapest 12" kit I've seen was a new Superlift that was like $1300, and it was springs, blocks, steering correction and el-cheap-O shocks.

:doah:

Its not a full kit. That is just one peice of the kit, but I am curious why its so expensive. The springs and everything else are seperate from that.

its part # 3052-1 Kit box with shocks.

I would call Superlift for a break down of contents.
