Hey Big89burb,
There are a whole mess of guys up in Magnolia that know their stuff when it comes to getting trucks high enough and strong enough to handle 44's. You may even know many of them. Sounds like you have a interesting project on your plate. I wish you luck!

Hey butcher,

Can you reccomend any guys/shops that might offer more help? Mostly just for advice. I'm a tech. myself. So I plan on doing all the install. I do have free reign over a really nice miller bobcat welder but I cant say that I'm a good with it :frown1:

Thanks for the luck

I have a 1990 crew cab on 44's with 17" of lift. Not that hard to do with everything that is available these days. I live in Crosby (about an hour away) if you wanna look at it and get an idea of what your Suburban would look like. Sorry about the picture size, not very computer savvy.

HOLD THE PHONE!!

425 Xpedition, post up some more info / specs on that truck for us crew cab geeks. :pimp:

What gears?

Does the truck have bucket seats? The pic looks like it does, are the factory?

There looks to be a bracket of some sort under the front bump stop area, what is it?

Edit: What did you do on the rear driveshaft to avoid vibes with the lift?

It has 4.56 gears.

The seat is aftermarket. It is a buckets with the folding console to make a bench if needed. Also has an overhead console that matches the seat.

The bracket is for a track bar. Added it to help keep the axle centered. Made a big difference in the way the truck drives.

I lowered the carrier bearing and lengthened the driveshaft to cure vibrations.

Truck has a 3" body lift.

Front lift consists of 12" springs, 1" zero rate and 1" shackle.

Rear lift consists of 8" springs, 5.5" block and factory 1.5" block. Need to do a shackle flip, just never have gotten around to doing it.

sure is a sweet truck! that makes me want to get rid of my :k5: and get a :crewcab:

whats ur mpg?

That IS a sweet truck! Hell of a job.

Big89burb, I've got the phone number of a guy up there does most of his own fabrication, but he can probably get you in touch with some people up there. There is a pretty good network of guys up in that area that all get together on his land and tear **** up a couple of times a year. It's very entertaining. He, or people he knows have all kinds of first hand experience with fabricating, etc, so they would be a good group to talk to.

There is another member on this board (his screen name escapes me, but I'll find it for you) that knows the same guy I am talking about. You might want to PM him sometime for info. I'd tell you to come talk to my mechanic, but his shop is all the way down at the bottom of the 610 loop at Stella Link. It's about 50 minutes door to door from Magnolia to his shop. But he does awesome work and he loves doing 4x4 stuff. His shop is just a regular automotive garage, but he loves working on trucks (especially if it is something difficult, or requires him to do some thinking/fabricating).

I beleive I have met some guys that know him. Think his land is off of nickle-sawmill (cant remember exactly) but its off of 1774 right there in magnolia.

I have a 87 sub on 12in lift springs in the front and shackle flip and 5.5 block in the back.

Pics?? complete list of mods?

Sweet truck. Makes me wanna sell the burban and get one of those. BTW what driveshaft setup did you use? I think that is my biggest concern. Just dont wanna jack this thing up and then have to wait forever to have a driveshaft made. I know its inevitable that I will have to measure my exact Length to get the proper fit. Just wanted to know the specifics.. Thanks!

Hey guys.

Forgive me for being a n00b but I was looking through all the 12" kits. I keep seeing the "Kit box w/shocks." What all comes in that cause from what I see its like 769.00. I keep searching but all I can draw from the title is shocks & maybe the steering correction parts? What all is in it?
