What's my best option to give myself a cup holder in my truck? Not looking to upgrade to buckets at this time. What are you guys doing to give yourself a good place to set your drink?

Lmc sells one that replaces the ash tray. I have it, it's pretty nice. I think it's like $40 so won't break the bank, but it's certainly not cheap.

My dually has a wooden cup holder that someone attached to the dash about where the middle a/c vent was. It has a curved piece of metal attached on the dash between the glove box and the ash tray. I thought it was silly till I used it a few times. works good.

I bought a cheap ($10) AutoZone cup holder.
Put two self tapping screws through the base, into the trans hump sheetmetal.

It's even adjustable, for all size cups! :D

A roll of duct tape! Just put it on the floor or seat and put your cup in it.

You don't really want to see this, but I will take some pics next week and show you how a friend of mine does his cup control in his chevy pickup.

He is a big "chewer", and always has a spit cup handy for hot days when he does not want to roll the window down.
Plus, he likes his soft drinks in ice, so he needs a holder for two cups.

The truck he has now has some built in cupholders, but he still prefers his invention from a couple of trucks ago.

Its two Bakelite ashtrays glued to the top of the dash with some Gorilla Glue. Styrofoam cups fit in them nice and tight.

Looks awful, but they work.

Just do not ever lean on the driver side of his truck when talking to him. You might not get your arm off right away.......
He does not use the cup all the time......

That's funny. Because when I was in high school, i fiberglass lined a pair of sneakers. Would walk into a party in my socks carrying the shoes. As the night went on, I would get someone to bet me to drink out of my shoes. Made $110 one night. Most nights were more like $20.

Recently I went to Autozone and saw they had a newer type of Benchseat holder thang. It was so nice, I almost bought it for my truck. Then I realized, where's my GF of the month gonna sit? :pimp:

Thats really random but hella funny:waytogo:

He mentioned shoes as cup holders. I just went one step farther and eliminated the cup.

When you get old, you get to post random crap. It's all you've got.

Back when I had a '86 VW Jetta, with no cupholders,I took two 3" conduit "U"clamps and used self drilling screws to attach them to the sides of the center console...ta-da,instant cup holders, that held any size cup or bottle pretty much...................................................................................................in my truck I have a cheap plastic one that sits on the tranny hump,I screwed it down to keep it in place, but coffee cups like to tip over and douse your feet if you take a corner too fast ,the "well" the cup sits in isn't deep enough...the heater helps keep hot drinks warm longer though,if they dont get spilled...................Dont matter what I use in my plow truck to hold cups, when your plowing, unless you have a cup with a LID ,your going to launch any drink all over the place when you ram a snowbank..its hard not to spill drinks just driving around in it,when you hit potholes, often the cup jumps up 3" and lands on the floor...I tend to do my drinking while PARKED in my truck, its ride just aint smooth enough to not end up wearing whatever your trying to drink in it while your moving..

In my Jeep, I used to have one of the articulated ones that go on boats.
If I mounted it on a block far enough away from the dash so it could swing forward, it would not spill when I hit a tree if it was not too fast and the tree gave.

Don't know about snowbanks though.........

Mine looked something like this.

But they have much better ones now.
