65 8 door might be sold? Shame. How much $$$???
And my mother bought a Camaro, GM had it figured out...
Corvair sold like crazy, GM claims they lost money, but reading the recent Corsa Communiuque from the Buffalo convention, (I was there, but fixing rootbeer 63, misssed lectures). GM lost money on complicated 65's>. The article talks about all the bumbling and shortcuts. Not like the Japanese would have done it.
$65 for the AM radio option, what a rip off, too profitable, left room for competion, and look at GM now...
Wouldn't mind one of these. 1 owner car, 230k, 327-340 horse, NO rust...

No the 65 is the coupe, that's the one that might be sold.
The 64 8 door is not for sale, at least not yet and not for cheap.
:D
Lets see if i can find a pic of my coupe...
Oh by the way, the 58 corvette is one of my dream cars, I have a scale model of it in white and red.
Here is a non flattering pic of my 65 coupe under all the crap :doah:

Meanwhile, back at the Spray Grease, Think this stuff will be good for the window gears & chanels etc?

BTW, I'm getting a serious case of work shop envy:bow::bow::bow::frown1::mad1::frown1:

I've got a 2 car width walled in carport, with a single width door, about 15 minutes from my apt. to work in:haha::haha::rolleyes:

Well did you see the post entitled "Wow"? A Bruce Cliche in Vermont. An endless storehouse. It was on E-bay for $1.5 M.:eek1:

Yep saw that, really considered moving to Vermont :D
I could easily make the paymens by selling the stuff a little cheaper than he was, and actually advertizing the stuff.
:(

Oops, spray grease? What's that, this is the Corvair forum...

OK, just kidding, us Corvair guys are truly nuts... Here's my '65 Corsa turbo when it went into the garage in '81, and, if I got the right shot, (they're hard to see) what it looked like before I dragged it out to the swamp in '88, where it sits to this day... and an ultra rare Canadian TO 308 RL turbo... Shame...

GREASE.... I just did my two front doors on my '87 'Burb, and when you roll down the windows, or actuate the door buttons, you can feel the smoothness of the grease, it's so thick, it hardly drips, I can't say enuff 'bout it. Wish it had more pressure so it would ej**culate out of my triple tube. It barely dribbles due to the friction, even when warmed up to 100f... ;)

Nobody greases a door better than me...

*cough* wow that's some great spray grease you got up there... lol I read along and by the end I totally forgot what the subject of the thread originally was, but I got to learn about spray grease, tax right offs, and old cars so all in all it was a fulfilling thread.

I wasn't sure how the tax deductions worked either, got in a big argument with the gf the other day cause she was saying it was like free too and I knew that wasn't right... how do they come up with the 33% (I realize it's not exactly 33% but wondering where the deduction comes from)

I'm not sure it's exactly 33%, but I believe that's what I saw on my compooper tax return last year. My wife's best friend comes here and does it with us. I just feed her scraps of paper with illegible numbers, and ask questions just like what I answered here.
I just looked at our joint return, and we are well above the poverty level, and we paid $27k, far less than the 33% I mentioned, 'cause we are self employed, and write off all kinds of stuff. Beyond me, I just sign the cheque...
OTOH, those making above the threshold in Quebec, Canada pay 55%, yup, 55%! There's no provincial tax in Alberta 'cause of the oil wealth. No idea what they pay, but s'ppose it's the same federal as anybody else in Canada. Quebec's in rough shape, just cross the border from NY and witness the condition of their interstates. Shame...

So we earn 2, what would we pay if no deductions? Just straight income... Wasn't sure, but thought I was close... oh well...

Yeah 33% is average so it would be safe to generalize and say 33% when you talk about savings. :D
