Best fuel milage setup???

Give me to payday on Friday and I can tell you what a stock 91 on stock tires will give you. So far it's looking pretty good.
Ok, my completely stock 1991 TBI with stock tires (235/75/15) just returned a very nice 20.1 MPG ... IN TOWN. No highway driving at all, mostly around 35-55 mph. :D

this 5.3 engine i have been driving around lately in this 2wd '05 Avalanche is getting 16.2 mpg, according to the dash readout, and it's been driven pretty lightly on the gas pedal due to the rising gas prices. Not sure what gears are in it.

My '89 Suburban, TBI350/700r4 lifted 4" on 35x12.5 tires, 4.11 gears gets about 12-13mpg on the highway, maybe a touch better depending on weather, wind and terrain conditions, but when it was stock, with 31x10.5 tires and 3.42 gears, it was doing around 14,,maybe close to 16mpg on the freeway, again, depending on weather, wind road terrain.

I used to drive it from Phoenix to San Diego alot back when it was stock, and it didn't do too awfull bad for a bigger truck, but there was a significant difference in fuel mileage as soon as the lift went on, and also when the final bigger tires went on.,,,also, it almost seems to get better fuel mileage driving around town now over freeway driving, possibly having something to do with dragging the big brick through all that wind and whatnot..

i KNOW mine is getting 6 in the city......haven't made a worthy road trip yet to see the highway mpg. my friend, the PO, said it consistently got 14 on the road though.

i am getting consistant 21-25MPG. 6.2, 700r4, lock out hubs, 6" lift, dual 2.5 flowmaster race mufflers, on 35's. Fuel is turned up, not sure what gears. All 2 lane 55MPH roads here.

backward dude e 85 is 15% alcohol and 85 percent gasoline:whistle:

You are describing E15 and our "regular" winter blends are almost that high. Pure Ethanol is E100, but you'll never find it at the pumps. Think of the parties kids would throw with booze for $4/gallon.

Except for the additive they use to keep people from drinking it. Same additive they use in Nitrous Oxide to keep people from huffing it.
