Best LSD 14 bolt ff 4:10 aftermarket

love my stock gov-loc in the 14ff for most wheeling . if you do snow and daily driver duty its a good combo .

stock in tons of gm trucks . 3/4 and 1 ton even in the 10.5" gas engine trucks in to the late 2000's trucks there the same .

i think there made by eaton .

there open diff until 1 wheel spins then the clutches lock in . as long as you know its in there and how it works the 14ff versions last a long time . i use to run 1 in my old truck on 38x12.50 tsl swampers and built 400 sbc engine .

From my experience and what I hear guys say, for a limited slip and lots of varied conditions that don't require a full locker, go with a Gov-loc or a Tru-trac. You should be able to find a Gov-loc used some places, but I would probably buy a Tru-trac new from a drivetrain dealer who will provide good service if there is a problem.
A reputable seller could net you a good used Gov-loc for for a decent price though.

Daily driver, I live on a steep deep muddy road ,snowy ,muddy ,for about 4miles. The other 18 miles are half back roads half rural route

I like the Tru-trac in my K10, it does nicely in snow, and most everything.
I also like how the 2 smaller Gov-locs I have used worked.

If you decide to go with a used Gov-loc and can't find one locally, post up cuz I have one and I'm sure others do too.

I love my Detroit but... it's not as street friendly as Gov lock. It is a stronger locker though. The only time I hear mine is when accelerating hard around a corner.

2nd this...super easy to install in a 14 bolt too... :waytogo:

Gov-bombs in smaller 10-12 bolts don't last long with large tires....
ask me how I know...:whistle::whistle:

i used a detroit for 1 winter with 38" swampers and every time there was more than 2 inch of snow i had to be in 4wd or the truck wanted to swing around 180* on me . swapped in my goc-loc and back to normal snow driving in 2wd .

not saying a detroit is bad but just act different than others for sure .

I have had a gov Lok and and a Detroit. In winter either one was perfectly fine for me.

My gov Lok in my burb works very well though. Might be the first one I have ever had that works. But I like it just fine.

A Detroit takes getting used too and a change in driving style. Drift much? Lol.

I have 6 inch suspension lift and 2 inch body lift, 454 with th350 with 410 gear and 315/75/16 cooper discover so ,I guess it's either tru trac or the gov locker, my 14 bolt ff is out of 85 . Called a couple of salvage yards but no response so far I live in new Hampshire, so slim pickings
