I know it has been brought up before, but that was for highly modified trucks. What are the best options for insurance on a stock, or mostly stock 87 blazer. State farm wants 34 bucks a month for bare minimum coverage on it as a "leasure" vehicle. That seems extremely high. They won't insure it as an antique vehicle.

Are there any other more affordable options? I know most the classic car ins. Companies won't do 4x4 trucks, but there has to be a cheaper option.

I have Allstate and two other vehicles...and a discount for homeowners. You might need to bundle to get a better deal.

Ha, i pay $75 a month for bare minumum PLPD. Alot from being only 20 im sure, but still, I have no tickets or anything on my record and thats with a good student discount... ugh

I have a bundle. Renters, 3 year safe driving, bundled, multi car, and a discount on my rate because I am married.

Insurance is hard to make suggestions on other than just shop around. Rates vary by so many factors its crazy. We just moved and our rates jumped enough it was worth while for my parents and sister to switch providers, I'm waiting for my next adjusted bill and will more than likely be switching too if their bills are any indication.
I used to pay about $50 a month for plpd on my dodge and the k10 was on my parents so it was cheaper and it was still $30 a month.

USAA offered me full coverage on my blazer. i asked even though i off roaded with it . they didnt mind.

$34 sure seems like a cheap rate to me. I dont think I ever paid less than $100 a month for liability on my 82 k20. Granted, i set bodily injury limited at 100,000/300,000. That was with a clean record, piggybacked with my daddy, and a student discount. My opinion is, that you guys with bare minimum are going to be screwed if you crash into somebody and seriously hurt them. Not only will you be out of a car, but your coverage might not be high enough to cover their medical bills. Not sure how it works in every state, but here they can sue you (and win) for expenses not covered by insurance. Also, I had to carry full coverage on my 97 because I financed it. I always thought that full was a thing for rich people, but after I wrecked my truck, it sure was nice to not have to pay for repairs, short of my deductable. I paid that truck off 2 years ago and still carry full coverage, and we switched my wife's car to full coverage too. We pay around $750 for six months through Esurance.

I'm paying $750 for six months on three vehicles. Two have full coverage. My wife's 2001 Exploder is highest at $375 for 6 months,

We have 2, 97 GMC 1500 and the 02 Civic. I am 28 and she is 24, and we have been with the same provider for only 3 or 4 years. I think what you said earlier about age and time served are some of the biggest factors.

815 for 6 months 2 drivers 3 vehicles full coverage. 2006 2500HD crew , 89 blazer, and a 99 grand cherokee.

Through state farm I pay $17 a month for my 86 k10 with bare minimum liability. My 85 is $30 a month with comprehensive, uninsured motorist and increased over all coverage.

I am 24, married, have 4 vehicles insured by the same company, no tickets and no accidents. I think all together we pay $700 every 6 months with full coverage on the two cars. When I get my 85 k10 painted its getting full coverage.

For reference, when I was 16 with liability and uninsured motorist on an 84 k10 I started out paying $100 a month. I got good driver, good student and a discount for doing the insurance company's driving program.

edit: wanted to add that my 86 k10 is hacked to the max with very little of the original body, narrowed, no windshield, big tires etc. and is still insured by state farm as an 86 k10. I like my agent:D

we have farmers 200000/500000, uninsured motorist coverage, towing, and some other junk just alittle under full coverage on the 72 k5 and my wifes 97 Taurus. I have a clean record but she has a crap load of speeding and other low tickets and we pay $65 a month
