Wasilla AK,
been looking around , but wondering if you guys can recommend a place?? maybe a CK5 vendor that I dont know about?

I think they may be discontinued. I would call banks or look for used. I have bought 2 used ones now (resold one). Price is around $700-800.

you can still get them it just takes longer bc they dont keep kits they have to put them together, any place you look at is going to be aroung 2.5k or 3k for a new one, at least the places ive looked

Thats what I have found too. No way I would drop that kind of money on this motor. Its a great reliable, economic engine... but, thats where I draw the line. ;)

Well I've got 3 of them, and I have the P400 on order. I really like the 6.2/6.5

I figure it was gonna be 2500.00 thats how much i paid for the last one . I'm just looking for a preferred vendor.

Bank's website still lists the kit in Multiple part #'s
I'm just looking for a vendor to sell me a couple kits

I've done the Cummins Swap. for what these trucks do I dont need the hassle

I've got 2 Subbys and a K10 with 6.2's they dont need Big power or the weight of a 6BT.

91 sub is a DD for patty
90 sub is my AK wheeling rig
K10 is gonna be My DD

I've got other rigs to pull with I want mileage and decent power

Let me know if you find one at a reasonable price (under $1k), I would like to pick one up.

damn thats crazy! screw it, ill just keep it N/A and spend that money on tires and lift :D

lol yeah its alot but my rigs are DD's The way I look at it 2000.00 is 4 months of payments on a newer ride that i wouldn't like as much

true. mine will be my dd as well. once i get it up and running (got it today and it died on me :doah:)

6.2's and 6.5's get a bad rap I think there a great motor as long as you dont expect to much from them given the choice between a 6.2 and 350......I'd take the 6.2 the torque is great they sound cool and mileage is outstanding and with the banks turbo there even better ( and some other simple mods)

Sounds like you've tried alot with these motors... what other mods do you recommend with or without turbo?

I got a new CUCV that I would like to keep mechanically simple... and not spend 2K+ on.

bones, cold air intake and free flowing mufflers. Nice "seat of the pants" power increase.

I'm in the same boat as yellowK20. Although I can't even justify a Banks turbo for my needs. I have no need for a Cummins or other big truck diesel. I just don't need that much power or the trouble that goes with the swap (like our flexi-frames cracking and such) to even be close to justifying it. If my engine(s) ever dies at most it'd get a P400 and MAYBE that would eventually turbo'd.

Sorta like people who automatically assume a 4x4 or muscle car has to have a big block...I just don't see the point.

ditch the Timing chain and get the gear setup, dual thermostats , upgrade your glowplugs .

and well basic maintenance goes along way

Oh, for the CUCV - Wellman 070 gp's if it's still 24v start.

I converted to 12volts. Starter went... And "simple" is the plan here. I do not have overheating problem (delco stock tsast and a clean cooling system seem to keep it real cool), though I've heard that can become an issue. Low milage, so not sure the timing chain needs replaced quite yet, but that one sounds like a real good idea. AJM did you use factory cold air intake? Move the front battery? U just put new mufflers on the stock dual exhaust?
