So who do you buy your tabs etc from?

Needing a bunch for my upcoming cage build. For attaching to the poly tube mounts that will be at all my frame tie ins from the cage...

Speedway motors sells these 3/16" ones for 6.99 per pack of 5. Best price ive found so far. I need the hole centers at least 1.25" from the flat. Id rather have 1/4" though.

Seems many websites want like $2 or so a piece...

Or who do you know that will cut you a good deal if you order like 50 of them etc? Never a bad thing to have laying around, could be used for tons of things.

I know I could fab a bunch easy enough, but once you get into making a handfull of them, spending a few bucks is well worth the time savings.

have you checked DIY4X?

Yes. $4.20 a pair.

I have a 4 foot long DIY4X sticker on my rig. I definitely know what he has lol. Just trying to save a few bucks.

Also not only looking for this style. But where do people buy fab tabs in general. Different shaps sizes etc.

yeap.... I knew that after I posted I was like oh f*** that was deuling of course he checked:doah:

All good man. Im looking to buy about 30 of them or so, not that ill need that many for my cage stuff, but they are wicked handy to have around. But I dont wanna spend $70 on them etc..

have you tried this place? price per is bout the same as the 5 pack from above unless you buy 50 then its a lot cheaper

im gunna look around ask my old man back in cali if he knows someone.

but a few bucks is a few bucks.

Back when I was building stuff I just hit up whoever was having a sale but almost all my tabs came from DIY4X. He was cool about making slight changes on stuff too.
You need to shoot him a PM and tell him what you're wanting. He might work with you on price if you buy enough to make it worth his while.

Also ruff stuff speedway couple of other circle track places. Dune buggy places.

I am not a fan of using thick tabs on cages I would rather weld an 1/8 thick tab I side and out ( so 2 per gusset) than using a single 1/4 thick gusset

I suppose I have an advantage since I live five miles from them. I just go in and buy what I need, I've never dealt with them online but imo they are great in person.

I'd rather use tube as a gusset so if the cage gets hit hard the gusset tab doesn't punch through the tube at the intersection. Then you can plate the sides with speed holes and weld in tube to join the speed holes together for a clean look thats hella strong. Overkill YES. :thumb:

Ah. Thats the place I was about to hunt down that my buddy used to have a giant book for. Theyre pretty damn cheap IIRC.

And unless Ballistic has cleaned up their act, you can order 20, they'll charge you for 20, and then they'll ship you 18 now, and the other two in like a year.

Did I mention I'm not a fan of Ballistic? :)

or they will charge you for everything and then ship nothing for a month and then charge you a restocking fee for something they never had in stock, Ballistic sucks, avoid them if at all possible.

I thought you had access to a laser or something Adam? Can't you have some made yourself by making a dxf file to give to the machinist?

Apparently they are local to me as well. Gonna have to check them out.
