
Wasn't there a thread on pirate about people having those crack and break off because of the weight/lever arm/flexing issue. Was that just because of oversized tires or the design or the materials used?

Its all in design. Plus a lot of fab suppliers selling trailer spindle kits stepped up their size too.
My tire carrier has one of kurts spindles, but I made sure that when it closed the thing had feet that landed on delrin pads so it couldnt bounce and jar while driving. Im still yet to safety wire it a year later though![]()
We've switched our design to a swing down. Far better method IMHO.
