best tranny for mud???

with a manual it would be hard to shift and keep goin without losing momenteum. with an auto you jus romp it and hold on

I would go 350 or 400

Just cuz you can put your foot in it and have to let off for it to shift gears.

350 would work as long as your not worried about tearing it up with a big motor.

whats the best tranny for mud bogging???:confused: well i dunno what 2 get for my blazer, its gonna be mostly drivin in mud!:D

i would say stick with your th350 it is a strong transmission.. but what you need to do is to ensure that it wont everheat.. so change the transmission oil pan to a bigger one (if you still have the stock pan) and install a seperate radiator for the transmission fluid that is equipped with an electrical fan!!

that way you wont have to worry a bit about your transmission...

...and a trans temperature gauge would help you out also.

ha yeah whatever you do stay away from a stock 700r4, id say a th400 would be the best. but either way, get the biggest tranny cooler you can find

4 speed baby...when you need some quick power, just dump the clutch and away you go.

depends... if you're keeping it light, since it is a mud only truck, i'd go with the TH 350. if you're going heavy (big tires, 1 tons, full accessories, etc) then go 400.

WHOA! hold the train smokey!

Best/Worst Modifications:
best mod would be changing the 2wd into a 4x4 with the swap of cabs. worst mod is 4" lift w/ blocks all around

before you go worrying about swapping trannys, get the blocks out of the front before you hurt yourself, or worse yet, an innocent bystander.

uh, ya. You may want to get the blocks out of the front. You'll get beat up pretty bad on the forums for having them... if you live that long.

at least he put that as his worst mod, he knows its bad. the scary part is that he hasnt changed it yet

well im not gonna go 2 big probly the same 350 but ima built it up and a dana 44 and probly switch that 12 bolt for a 14 boltff, i dunno what t-case 2 choose, that would be good for the goo??LOL

A th350 should be fine if that's what you got I would run it.. A 208 or 205 will work and I would also run which ever one you got :D

It's just mud. Run what ya got. When it breaks, replace it with what you had. If it happens again, think of upgrading....

4 speed all the way there tougher and instant wheel speed can be had auto's don't last in deep mud Especially th350's they suck why they put them in 3/4 ton pickups is beyond me . if you must run an auto save yourself the hassle and get a built up TH400 it'll save you money and hassle in the long run

Also were gonna start having Muddboggs at my house about once a month here very soon your more than welcome to attend
